Nvidia announces RTX 2060, more powerful than GTX 1070 Ti at $350

RX Vega 64 is the second worst graphics processor AMD/ATi have ever had, after the HD 2900XT.
HD 7970GHz was ~35% slower than 780Ti but also just 62% of its size. Vega is bigger than 1080Ti.

Not a bad card by looks of it.

Stock it's trading blows with a 1070Ti, overclocked should be getting close to 1080 performance...

Why do people keep saying this?!?! Am I missing something here??

Yes it sometimes matches a 1080. But the 1060 matched the 980 but it didn't cost $349! It was $249

I just can't see why this card is being praised so much

Being marketed to, and price conditioning. They made it look like good value due to the other cards being heavily over priced, now this one is in a price bracket more people are willing to pay they look at the performance, not the overall package.

So £329 for the founders edition, the 2070 is £549 and yet OCUK sell the 2070 from £450.
So maybe £279 or so for the cheapest 2060 option, it might not be quite so bad. Not good by any means but not as bad as it could be.

Conditioned by marketing.
A new product offering familiar performance for a similar price, is seen as an amazing thing now.

Dull release

1080ti £599

BOOM:D
And even that was over priced! ;)

I don’t get it either mate. **** poor release imo.

But who wants a 6gb card now when we already have games using more than 4gb at 1080. The 3gb version is basically useless. More poor value from Nvidia.

It's NOT going to trade blows with the 1070ti once that 6gb is filled, which is likely to happen before the next round of Nrip-offs. It's going to struggle to trade blows with an 8gb rx570 at that point...

Something interesting to note ! Look at PC Games Hardware's recent video at 6min 47 sec. They test RTX 2060 vs GTX 1070 in Wolfenstein II in 4K at Ultra details in Vulcan mode and the RTX 2060 with just 6GB vram available for textures can barely keep 20FPS while the GTX 1070 with it's 8GB vram buffer absolutely smashes it with about 50FPS average!

The GTX 1070 was never intended to run games a 4K, but it can run some due to the Vram buffer. I think the RTX 2060 is an insanely expensive 1080p card. We see game engines using higher resolution textures constantly and that eats vram, it's not just one's screen resolution.

6gb on a £350 gpu in 2019 is pathetic.

Yeah I posted it was 2018...Its actually 2019!

Amazes me how many of the so called you-tubers getting free gear seem to pander to the Hardware giants just to get clicks...

Yeah it may be as fast as a 1070ti but that means jack when its gimped in the ram department.

That's the thing, a card will run at half speed or less once it reaches the vram limit. It's a massive bottleneck.

It's like putting a performance engine in a car, but only using a fuel pump which can supply enough fuel for half revs.

The RTX2060 is not aimed at 4k gaming though, the 1070 can't keep a solid 60FPS either because that is also not a 4k card.

RTX2060 is for 1080P with Ray tracing switched on, which is can maintain 60FPs in BFV, or you can do 1440p and might need to play with some settings., that is a perfectly reasonable compromise given the relative cost.
