NVIDIA Could Be Developing Super Secret Hardware Planned For Gamers – It’s Not a GPU

Being slightly more sensible, maybe a titanesque aftermarket cooler for GPU's and maybe even one for the CPU aswell.

VOLTAGE UNLOCKS

or a riser card like the old OCZ memory voltage booster, do people remember that?! It was such a random product.

I have one somewhere (unless it got thrown out) - paired with a DFI 865PE Infinity motherboard and some at the time high end OCZ RAM :D (EDIT: Oh and the obligatory Akasa Black Knight or something that was all the rage CPU cooler of the time).

Steambox? Could be, no way is the Steambox going to be AMD that's for sure, what with it being Linux-powered. Plus it allows Nvidia to save some imaginary face after AMD winning both console contracts.

Seen a few people claiming intel + nvidia + valve + Oculus VR working on a gaming platform but mostly its from well not very reputable sources... however CCP and another big name developer have major IP in the works that depend on something like this to happen to be a reality and I can't see the amount of effort put into them happening without the potential for a decent sized market... so...

Well I hope it's 3D related, 3D vision is already awesome, what could they do to make it better I wonder?

Anyone know where Gregster's gone? aint seen any posts from him in a while.

Why not? Why would they not go with amd? Its what's in all new consoles thus will be better to gear games for...

Who cares if Linux support isn't the best on amd... It can be improved.

Makes more sense if its got amd inside than nvidia

AMD's Linux graphics support is a long way behind nVidia - who incidentally just spent a whole heap of resource making the Linux drivers much more reliable (and performant).

Coincidentally its also SteamBox announcement week this week. Putting the two together, this is what I'd be putting my money on for the product. Probably pretty handy that nVidia managed to secure a console at last, given AMDs success in the area.
