NVIDIA Could Be Developing Super Secret Hardware Planned For Gamers – It’s Not a GPU

Are you sure its not a stitch? :p

Didn't you nail it in #109?

I hope not. I can see the potential of playing on my TV but I would still rather play on my PC with something else (like a Oculus Rift/dedicated AA card/something to boost my PC gaming experience basically.

SteamOS seems a little bit naff IMO :(

Maybe just me expecting too much again :D (or wanting)

Well they people who reverse engineer Nvidia drivers for Linux and Linus Torvalds both said last week that Nvidia had been in contact about wanting to go in big time with Linux/OpenGL, as far as giving the driver guys access to the source for Nvidias proprietary drivers and full support from their team so it's possible that the Steam stuff may just be the tip of the iceberg.

They are not giving them full access to the source code nor "full support", they are merely documenting certain things that previously were very unintuitive as to how they worked.

Steambox will use the binary driver, don't see any reason for Valve to use the open-source reverse-engineered one.

I would take either ATi or Nvidia driver product over Razer's. Granted they have sorted it out a little but it took them around 3 years to fix the drivers for the Deathadder? Even now they don't work properly, for example if I manually set the slider for the Y axis for my Deathadder BE, it doesn't do anything, both min and max are the same setting...

The latest BETA drivers have added support for OpenGL 4.4 so it does look like they could be gearing up to back OGL big time, which is cool as I always preferred OGL to D3D :)

Actually they are hence contacting them to offer them support and access to the Nvidia driver guys plus access to the documentation.
