nVidia G-Sync Q&A with Tom Peterson

He can post in the BF4 or FreeSync threads, he has rattled enough cages here IMO.

I will not see those posts.

LCD/V-Sync/Triple Buffering all add LAG of one type or another so MP gaming against a Pro on an older CRT will harder sure but most will be on the same LCD's etc.

High HZ LCD's and G-Sync are the start of trying to lower or do away with this.

But the BF4 thread isn't about Gsync and Freesync isn't out to the end users. This is out, so my points can be tested. and like I said before maybe learn couple things on the way.

CSGO is hard proven capping you put yourself at disadvantage. BF4 Frame rate is Defo linked to the server, this is why when the server is having issue you will also notice fps drop. "see Settler post"

Missed this mate, didnt know you had scrapped the idea of getting the swift. Hopefully later down the line acer will release gsync monitors at lower resolutions. Again i await your findings. You and Greg must be sitting like two expectant fathers waiting on that despatch email.:D

They have a 27" 1080p 144hz GSync monitor up for pre-order at ~£360, not a bad price for what you get, I may be grabbing one of these too as I need something for 3DVision that has lightboost :)

Haha yep, only we've been waiting since the start of July :(

Again you simply dont understand what I saying here. All them add input lag I talking about the effect of server lag, by capping the frame rate not input lag.

@ pgi947 : IMO and many here 27" 1080p is a bit blocky.

Yeah, I had heard that 27" is pretty much the absolute max over 1080, though in that price bracket my choices would lie with Acer or AOC, I trust Acer more :p

I'll see how I get on with the 4K first, if it does indeed to 1080p@120hz then I'll likely settle for a regular 24" 3dVision 2.0 monitor to run along side it

settle down guys, don't get to heated!

you guys sometimes are like Dogs on Heat you Never Settle

Just play the games The Way It's Meant to Be Played

ill get out, but yeh i want 4k Gsync before i upgrade

in thoery future Monitor could support both Freesync & Gysnc?

You should have no input lag because you removed the Vsync. I guess you still playing on 60hz reason for capping at 60fps? have you tried not capping? while screen tear will be much worst I bet you feel a great improvement in server latency. One great thing about 120hz it hinds the screen tear a lot more vs 60hz while it sure is still there, like yourself you just dont notice it unless you look for it.

Even on CSGO @300fps you think screen tear would be a lot true is I still dont even notice it.

Yeah tried with no vsync and no cap and the screen tear is there, But with a cap at 60 fps i very rarely see any screen tear.

Yep, ive seen that in a few articles. Though id prefer to get onto a higher res. Hopefully we will see other manufacturers offering more choice as gsync becomes more established. Ive soldiered on at 1920x1200 for a few years now, few more months wont hurt.:)

I'm sure more will come soon, the monitor market is positively booming at the moment, gibbo said on Friday night alone he sold over 100 swifts, I'm sure other manufacturers will want a slice of that cake, near £70k of sales in one evening on a single line isn't bad going :p

Would love to know the markup on the swift, as we all know the buy price ;)
He flew them in, so there must be a few quid in it :D
