Nvidia GameWorks teams up with Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, Tom Clancy’s The Divis

Have you not tried it recently?

Even trisli is working

Farcry 3, nope not played it for at least a few months, maybe longer. I spent a lot of time on it though as i enjoyed the game. Completed it once and got about half way through a second time when i was chasing the other ending. Never finished it though (the second time) and probably won't ever go back to it now as ive spent a lot of time on it and am currently playing new games.

I know it scales well on crossfire, HardOCP found they got 97% scaling on XDMA. And that was with an i7 3770k.

AC4 runs great. Except Physx is broken!! At least I cant run it, I get terrible fps with it on.

There are threads complaining about it on the Nvidia forums so it's not just me. Unless SLI 670's isnt enough...

It is nVidia gimping it for nVidia users so they have to upgrade. Dirty nVidia :D

ohh god really Nvidia gameworks will be used in TC The Division? :( well there's me going looking forward to this game and running well on my 290x

Some nice effects thanks greg
While i dont like the idea of propriety stuff , If thats the only way we can get Extra effects and better IQ then so be it bring it on :)

The GameWorks effects look very good to me and most of the GameWorks effects are just starting to be fully released or just out of Beta. It makes coding for the devs easier (who have a licence of course) and once AMD fully understand GameWorks, they will be better optimised for their users. Remember all the people defending Mantle and claiming it as a beta and this is pretty much the same scenario in terms of newness and with the major difference being GameWorks runs on AMD hardware albeit without PhysX and TXAA but Mantle only runs on AMD GCN hardware and nothing else.

Mantle is Open Source
GameWorks is proprietary

I think that is correct?

A 660Ti beating a 7870 is nothing new, as they are both geared for the same part of the market. If people who bought a 7870 are not happy, maybe they could upgrade to a newer nVidia card. That's what I would do.

As for GameWorks, I am sure AMD will code better for it in time and bring the performance up to par for their users :)
GTX660Ti "beating" the 7870 is nothing new, but it is only around 5-8% faster, not 60% faster...

The 7870 pretty much got dropped to below GTX560Ti performance...

I actually think Mantle is a good thing but people need to talk about the things it does badly as well. Knowing Mantles strengths and weaknesses will allow people to get the best out of it.:)

Well said Kaap , If you dont open your eyes to the flaws how can they be fixed?
This goes for everything in life imo

May have to decide between AMD and Nvidia for next GPU, seeings as Source 2 can't be too far away now, UE4 generally running a bit better on Nvidia cards makes it a hard choice..

Doesn't help that Nvidia cards are a fair bit more expensive as well mostly and only a bit better in most games.

Maybe best for me to wait for next round of cards, i see the 780 and 780 Ti run the UE4 Elemental demo pretty well @ 1080p, roughly 40fps minimum and over 60 average. Whether actual games will run better or worse i'm not sure, but i can wait. Maybe drivers for AMD cards can be optimized to run UE4 games as good as Nv cards? Or not, Unreal Engine usually favors Nv cards for some reason.
