nVidia GameWorks - What is it?

I used Nvidia 3D Vision with Anaglyph 3D when I had a GTX680, and from my time with that, it was pretty good.

3D Vision wasn't as limited either, Tridef only works with Direct X 9+, whereas with 3D Vision, I could run Rome Total War 1 with 3D Vision and it'd work.

Although I don't see much tinkering with Tridef, just start the profile and there we go (I've had the odd game not working, Fifa 13, but Fifa 14 works perfect)

It was Skyrim in particular I remember having issues with.

Had to do all sorts of trickery and wizardry to get it working, and then think I still ended up in software rendering mode, or whatever it's called.

There is a fair few times in Batman AO that oil drums have fire coming out of them but it looks all pre-rendered but the flames look good. I expect it will be a while before we see the full potential.

Batman AO physX are fairly basic in fairness, I found that Arkham Asylum used more effects!

Batman AO was actually my first physx title... Would like to go back to the first two, but I have so many unplayed games... it may be 2016 before I get a chance.

Just finished AO last night, and I don't know what all the complaints were about. I only had minor bugs, performance was good, and I found it rather fun, if a bit samey.

It certainly looked very good.

I have all 3 Batman games but not played the previous 2 in forever in truth and Like Eyetrip, I just seem to be putting so many games on the back burner. I will get round to these though and hoping they are as good as my memory remembered :)

I am loving AC4. It does feel a little sluggish now and then, so will fire up FRAPS to see if I need some more grunt.

Have to say, I am a fan of uPlay's download speeds :D

Edit: No 120hz options?!

No Paul, no 120Hz option. I hope 3D works ok. I will report back ohhhh and very Jelly of those speeds. It took me 13 hours to download :(

Sorted ;)

go to C:/users/*username*/Documents/Assasins Creed IV Black Flag/ and open the .ini file in there with notepad, change the following values:

RefreshRate=60
DisplayableRefreshRate=60

To

RefreshRate=120
DisplayableRefreshRate=120

Save and close, re-launch the game and now you have 120hz 2d support :)

Ok, I can't complain then :D

Though it just reminded me of way back, when using dial-up, one night I wanted to download something 120mb (and we had this flat rate for call after 7pm) and I sat up all night watching the download in case I had to reconnect....

I guess I should be grateful for 4 hours for 23GB :)

If Nvidia truly allowed AMD cards to take advantage of this and AMD allowed Nvidia to take advantage of Mantle then PC as a platform would reach a new level of epicness!!!

Since the last patch AC4 has developed some stuttering for me. I updated to the .92 betas and it reduced most of it (better SLI profile). But when the rain effects kick in there is some stuttering for me at sea still. Not sure if that is SLI related again though.

Batman AA had a few dream sequences where the walls would collapse, bricks and spiders would fill the floor and paired with 3D it really did look pretty good. Considering the game is a good couple of years old now too. Batman AA is probably one of my favourite games when played in 3D. It just works very well with the more indoors setting over Arkham City, which didn't adapt too well to being open world IMO.

Show off :o

Game runs strangely, regular dips into the 30's and the game engine is locked at 60fps so 120hz mod does nothing

Pffft peasant internet. :p

That's pedestrian compared to the one day service i had with 200mb. Download speed for that day was around 20000 kb/s. They never told me i was getting to trial it just noticed myself. That was around a year ago now so they can't be too far away from release.

Unfortunately i have moved to a brand new house where my only internet option is bt and not even there fast fibre broadband. Top download speed is barely 500 kb/s.
