NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Review Thread

Sorry raven but why trust only anand? Is it because they paint the picture of what you want to see. As i said above it all seems to be down to the games used these days as to what picture is painted in each review so i then go to [H] to see what kind of real time gameplay experience each card is giving in the games they use.

HardOCP will probably test the HD6950 1GB anyway when they get one and they are not as biased as people tend to thing they are!

For instance even with the HD6850 1GB review they tested it at 2560X1600:

RavenXXX2 thinks there is an anti-Nvidia conspiracy even when there isn't one.

@ Raven: They compare on price - not specifications. They say in the review that if it wasn't for AMD's price drops yesterday they would have rated the GTX 560 higher.

If I had one criticism to level at HardOCP, it would be that they don't use a wide enough variety of games in their testing.

After seeing that KFA card with the white PCB I don't want to settle for anything else... but paying an extra £50 for it just seems too much

OCP
Our performance results at this ~$260 price point indicate that the GeForce GTX 560 Ti is more apt to compete with the Radeon HD 6870 than the Radeon HD 6950 as one might have thought, in terms of performance.

6870 lol, now go look at the 6950/70 review, OCP think the 6970 blows the 570 out of the water

Now go look at every other review, the 570 got great reviews as is the 560, but according to OCP they both suck, sorry but if that's not anti Nvidia I don't know what is.

They still tested the 1GB cards at 2560X1600 though so it is their normal testing strategy. When they get the HD6950 1GB they will do the same thing.

In this review they tested BOTH the GTX470 1.3GB and GTX570 1.3GB against the HD6870 1GB:

Maybe I am just stupid and haven't read the article properly, but can someone explain to me why hardocp always compare cards at different settings rather than fairly comparing them at the same resolution and graphical settings?

It's not anti-nvidia. It's just using a different testing methodology to practically every other site. Different methodology, different conclusion.

The point of their testing is to find what they consider to be the highest playable settings in real game. Ergo - no point testing at settings where all the cards can max everything out.

I don't think apples to apples tests are even considered in the conclusion. They wanted to stop bothering with them but the readership asked for them to be kept.

Edit: Anti nVIDIA? Some big fat recent nVIDIA [H] Awards: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/12/07/nvidia_geforce_gtx_570_video_card_review/10

and from a recent article:
We think it is time for AMD to step it up on CrossFireX performance. We understand some games slip by, but honestly, these highly popular and still played older games should not be "losing performance" over the course of time. It is clear that NVIDIA is doing a better job than AMD at the high end when it comes to multi-display gaming. We have seen overall AMD is lacking in the driver department with its Eyefinity configurations.

Conclusion of the HardOCP GTX570 review:
"Considering the improvements in power, thermal profile, performance, and all of that at a tempting price, we feel the GeForce GTX 570 deserves our Gold [H] Editor's Choice Award. It will be interesting to see if we have another award winning GPU next week that could make us rethink our comments today, but we cannot comment on what we have not gamed with."

They don't. They find out for them which is the highest playable settings each video card can reach. They also play the game and use fraps to measure there fps unlike most other review sites who just use canned benchmarks which usually don't relate to how the actual game plays.

They also do 'apples-to-apples' comparisons below the 'highest playable settings' table.

I'm really impressed that nVidia AIBs have got custom cooled 560's out at launch and at great prices

Please leave competitor talk to the competitors and other forums.

Looking forward to seeing some SLI action. These cards look great, quiet, fast and hugely overclockable, what's not to like?
