NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2080 TI SUB £900 & INCLUDES COD: MODERN WARFARE !!!

Call me old (I'm 37) but I just dont notice the difference above ~90Hz. Anything about 90Hz looks silky smooth to me. I would much rather play at 100Hz 4K than *insert stupidly high Hz here and 1440p. But Im not entering CSGO tournaments. Mind you... neither are the vast majority of people who think they "need" 240Hz etc.

For me 100Hz 4K 32inch IPS display will be the sweet spot and look utterly stunning with modern titles. Can't wait. My reactions are far too slow now that going from 100/144/240hz would make any difference.

Cringe and triggered here sorry! But this is so wrong there are three types of 240hz gamers. Pro gamers want the lowest reaction times, Another wants the smoothness and another wants the blur reduction.

I fall into the last, Because until you get your butt off 90hz or fix them eyes you will never realize all displays bar OLED have disgustingly crippling amounts of blur. And you are all used to it so you make a post saying its unneeded to go 240hz. Well 240hz still has some so you need more than 240hz actually. It is either that or use Strobing backlights.

You said 4k 32inch at 100hz is the sweet spot, Well the PPI is nothing special quite low actually, 100hz is a crap refresh rate as well this display if you offered it to me as a free trade for a 240hz i would refuse every day of the week i would not pay more than £500 for one either yet they go for £999. You guys all using current displays, You are cheating yourself and are not even aware you think your display looks great, You take photos or stare at the static image but due to movements and eye limitations you find it harder to see that when you pan its all being smeared and stretched. And anything below 144hz honestly im going to be sick after 1hr of gaming.

Same here lol - after 90hz it feels about the same, maybe 144hz is slightly faster but I struggle to notice it. 60hz to 90hz feels like a massive difference, but after that the benefits quickly drop off - I'd rather put the spare performance that's left into pushing more pixels and/or settings.

The feeling does stay nearly the same i guess but its more like 130 for me, After this its all about blur reduction beside sync technology (Strobing means choosing one) and animations is probably the biggest as well above 144hz things start to look surreal. Diablo is not a game i like at all, At 100hz just a really average game, With if attuned to these things tiny tiny microstutter well at 240hz its actually an amazing thing to look at. So if you think you dont notice it you would, If you went in looking for blur and dodgy animations in some games you would see 240hz seems to fix nearly every bad game ive came across was fixed.

Wow, so you you spend every year up to ~2015 just wommitting constantly when trying to game?
Don't be so dramatic....

You were actually making reasonable points until your last sentances. Now you just look unreasoned.

Also I can't belive you got "triggered" because I said that at my age, for my use case, I don't see benefit over ~90Hz. I don't. I play Anno and the likes. Which I can assure you looks better on a 32" 4K IPS panel than a stupid 1080p 240hz TN washed out "gamer" panel.

Actually fyi i said i gamed on a CRT at 140hz as a kid and you know i have been gaming for twenty years, And around four years ago my eyes started to degrade somehow i now can not tolerate my 120hz display in anything but rts, And actually i always had awful headaches. So there you go does that explain? With age eyes degrade and i use mine a lot to focus hard in fps games.

** Edited by moderator ** I do not use it as a 1080p washed out gaming panel either lol, I already talked that i use them to downsample 4k, 1080p is more of an option in the toolset. But you enjoy the messed up blurry 32inch because you literally have no clue do you. It also shows how intelligent you are because you pay to render pixels that basically smudge to 1080p when you move the mouse, You only get 4k when the image is static at least at a much higher refresh rate if you render pixels, They maintain the clarity while in motion. :p

Lol go sick under 144hz/FPS? Lol. How did you game all these years? Growing up I played even less than 30fps in the late 80’s and had a blast, never got sick once. I suppose that is why I am more than happy with 60fps these days and like to put the rest of the grunt into more pixels which means better image quality. As for motion blur, dude, people manually like to enable such things in settings even (not me) and waste performance, so doubt it is an issue :p

I hardly ever need to move the mouse that fast to get the blur you mention as I play offline single player games chilled and relaxed. No twitch reactions needed which lead to the blur you mention.

I only gamed at 30fps in the old days the CRT did 140hz, When it broke i used a 60hz dell until i got a 120hz display so all my gaming has been mostly HFR. During the 60hz time its painful thinking about it.

He has been away at the report button too i see lol, There is no real talking to them types until you experience higher refesh rates or strobing theres literally no point me trying to argue about it. But its when he said no one really needs 240hz this started as you do need it. And how else do i put this then its the "unintelligent and inefficent" way of rendering pixels. As you said some people even developers will add blur when they know the game will be played at 60hz.

What you have to understand Rofflay, is we are not all like you.

I have a 165Hz panel, I now pretty much cap frame rates at 100Hz. I noticed very little visual/motion difference running 165Hz compared to 100Hz. I even struggle to notice much between 80 and 100Hz unless I specifically look at the frame rate.

The main things I did notice running at 165Hz was my GPU coil whine increased, and so did heat output from my PC. Capping at 100Hz I solved both these issues and noticed very little difference in fluidity in games.

He is not the only one. Many people go on about what is best not realising what is best depends on a users needs. If I prefer better image quality, how can a potato resolution 1080p monitor offer me that even if 300hz?

One of my favourite benefits of being on 2160p since 2014 has been I have not felt the need to upgrade my Haswell CPU (though I do fancy a Ryzen 3600 to play with). It hardly ever gets fully utilised. I am either GPU limited or even the GPU is runs without breaking a sweat capped at 57fps :D
