*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I am trying to squeeze my brain hard but I can't see very many "innocent" scenarios in which someone who ordered that card model on the 23rd and gets it before people who preordered it on the 16th and 17th. I can accept a "one guy ****** up and assigned the card to the wrong order number", sure, but it's still not innocent, not after we got told so many times that everything is dispatched in a first-come-first-served basis.
That, coupled with the constant change of official stance on the "card swapping" policy, makes it even less likely to be innocent.

And I'm being generous.
System error, human error etc... And it's not even been proved to be true yet, so let's not make a thing of this. If it happened to loads of orders, fine I could understand the anger but one order gone awry, conspiracy does not make ;)

Got my email.....ordered a week after release - Asus Strix 3080 Non OC - position 288 - thought it would be way higher than that to be fair.
There aren’t many people willing to pay the STRIX “tax”. So you can assume both STRIX queues are fairly short, relatively speaking.

I'm just waiting patiently for my Zotac Trinity... I'm using my backup GTX 770 that was sat in a box for ages since my old card died. I can barely play the games I love on this card, it's soul destroying.

I placed my order on the day of release, only 40 minutes after they went live, but I didn't get the confirmation email until about 6 hours later. Still, I'd hope I'm fairly low in the queue.

I've got my new 1440p 144hz monitor running, I was hoping that while I wait for the 3080, i could make the universe help me out by buying a fancy monitor. It doesn't seem to have worked.

What happened to those queue position emails they were expecting to send out? Unofficial queue position is in the low 30s.

Emails have start going out now it seems from those posting above :)

Firstly, I can assure you that OCUK aren't up to any shenanigans, if that order is correct them I'm 100% sure there's a perfectly good and innocent reason why?

The only thing we are, and ever have been clamping down on is on people breaking the forum rules, talking about queue positions official or unofficial is fine :)

You can't assure us they aren't up to shenanigans, you're just hoping they're not. It's not on you to defend that, just to do your moderation thing (which we appreciate for sure, sometimes it has to be a chore).

Ordered mine a couple of days after release and am 255. Wish I knew what sort of wait that would translate to.

Well on the email, it does state that you will get updated with your que position every time they drop a shipment.....so you will just have to try and work it out based on that info over the October period.

I'm still hopeful for mid November based on that number.

Firstly it's not up to you to tell me what to do ;)

Secondly, I've been involved with OCUK for many many years, as a paying customer, forum user and in more recent times, a moderator. I have a good idea on how they work and their ethos, I know many of the staff, so yes I'm 100% confident that they aren't dealing falsely with anyone :)

I'm not talking about conspiracies, but:
1- if it's a system error, that makes it a bug or a systemic problem: if OCuk has such a bug/systemic error in their systems and hasn't been fixed up to this point, it's a major issue because it will affect more orders in the future, not just these RTX 3080 preorders.
2- if it's human error, it's still not "innocent", it's a mistake that OCuk has to apologise for. I can wait for the apology, sure, but it needs to be addressed so that people that work there don't risk making such a mistake again. A human error on THIS kind of things, when modern ecommerce systems don't require people to do almost any manual passage to assign a product to a preorder, means that OCuk is still using error-prone systems in an era where those are cheaply replaced by better systems. That's on OCuk.

While I agree that we should not be screaming "conspiracy!!" and wear tinfoil hats, downplaying the impact of this fact is not wise. Either we get a reassurance that it's not real and it didn't really happen, or they reassure us that they found the mistake and will work to fix it asap.

It should be really good for OCUK to get these out - and weekly, it may be a first comparied to any other online store...
Saving grace.
Agreed. No idea currently how many of those in the queue ahead of me have received theirs, so my low 30s position might actually be very nearly ready for shipping...

It's the frustration of just not knowing that gets to most people, isn't it? We all know OcUK will do their best to get cards to us, but just no one knows when

I don;t think people who got their card are in the queue

I'm lost for words, I really am :(

How many has this happened to? 1 supposedly, if it becomes a massive issue then fine, but please.... :(
