*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Just got my queue update for Gigabyte Gaming OC, YEY! Went from 129 to 110, so at least 19 have been shipped in the last 3 weeks. When I saw %competitor%'s Gigabyte queue dropped by 53 after today's shipment I thought I might just abut to break 100 with cancelations.
Found a 3090 going on %auction-site% for £820, couldn't see anything obviously dodgy with the listing, but it had to have been a scam or a mis-listing or something? (Disappeared again pretty quick but then I wouldn't expect a 3090 to hang around at that price)

Yeah the biggest joke here is that they are still taking preorders.
The fact that they are implies that they believe they can fulfill these orders and probably quicker than others can. Its not worth the bad rep to over promise and under deliver.

It is likely though that any preorders taken now probably won't be fulfilled until next year, but at least its an opportunity to get in a queue. If you are only willing to purchase from somewhere that has stock then you are going to be constantly pressing refresh in your browser for months. I think they could make it clearer on their site though that a wait could be several months. If it turns out quicker then they have underpromised and over delivered, which actually would put them in a positive light

Just place your order and forgot about it. It will come when it comes. In fact I am going to do as I preach. Wasting far too much time checking this thread, and doing so isn't going to get it to me any faster.

My feeling about the stock shortage is that we are seeing what amounts to preproduction boardstuffing, by companies who exist to produce small product runs for companies to validate their products and in some cases provide reviewers with pre production samples for review. The reason Nvidia are about to be able to suddenly produce large amounts of cards to market is because Foxconn the volume board stuffer simply hasn't had any volume available because Apple unexpectedly took it all with their last minute move of iPhone 12 launch back a month.

Apples pre launch volumes are truly colossal and no one is going to say no to them, but there is no way Nvidia are going to admit they were pushed out of the order system as a result. iPhone 12 launches tomorrow and becomes available 23rd October - you just watch the product availability because that is the most likely reason for the GPU shortage at this time, and why it will suddenly change later this month.

anyone had queue positions for msi gaming x trio 3080 around 28th sep to 5th oct, ordered mine on the 3rd october still no queue email wondering for a rough guide what position i will be in

29th in queue maybe I got my hopes up to much when I see some were coming in lol
Ok this makes no sense. Guy above no 12 in queue got a shipping confirmation, but im 15 in queue, and just got updated to 9 in queue..... If only 6 shipped, how did no12 get his dispatched????? You're telling me people within the top 10 of queue cancelled??? ********

Kinda funny the blamed it on 'unprecedented demand'. Ocuk knew rightly they had and were going to have **** all to send out lol
Did you not see the Denmark retailers thing they posted showing they ordered like 1-2k of most cards for launch day and received 5-10 of each. It doesn't take a genius to realise that was across the board for all retailers.

Just received queue update mail.
Gaming X Trio
Ordered 17th Sept approx 15.30
Now position 380 from 406
Worst case scenario for me, I'll get a good look at Big NAVI (hopefully there's a bigger NAVI in the line up)
Not too concerned about Ray Tracing in this gen, DLSS has obvious allure, but only aiming to play at 1440 for a while yet.
High FPS, high refresh a priority for me.
