because I've also purchased but not recieved a graphics card - turns out its actually possible to still be involved in a conversation without losing all perspective of the situation because I don't live in some vaccum.

Its possible to be disappointed in something and want clarification on things without devolving into entitled hyperbole, and I think trying to give people perspective is just as valid in this conversation as anything else.

This thread and the one before it is hardly some focused, nuanced discussion, it's mostly people asking for the same info over and over, it's not like Im derailing it with some sort of off-track comments, lets not pretend my comment is some stark outlier in some deeper discussion

Hey, you know exactly what i ******* mean. If someone who ordered almost a MONTH after me gets items that were 'limited stock' that limited stock shoulda been pout aside for the people who paid almost 900euro weeks ago...

I never said it was false advertising... I just said its simply ******** and a slap in the face. Do you actually disagree with that?

The issues we have are with OC and possibly the card manufacturers. Probably shouldn’t be sniping at each other.

My eta from the get go was always October 31st so I can't really be in a place to be upset yet. If they fulfill that date or before then job done.
 
I wonder why the queue position email says 'Thankyou for your pre-order'?

It's not really a pre-order now is it? It's a real order.

If I order a new car, and it takes a few weeks to arrive, then I've placed an order for it. No pre about it.

When I'm an old man I'm going to be really grumpy and complain about stuff that doesn't matter all day long too. ;)

Well apparently it is hard to comprehend, because you haven't comprehended how it works at all. The codes are linked to the cards, you cannot activate the codes without your card, because your card details like S/N, etc are part of the activating information. If that wasn't the case, they'd have just handed them out to the first 1000 people, but as has been said on here multiple times, they are unable to do that because that's simply not how the codes work.

So no, I don't see it as a slap in the face - maybe its an easier pill for me to swallow because I have zero interest in playing Watchdogs Legion, so I appreciate Id probably feel a bit more sour about it if it was a game I was really hoping to play...but outside of understandable disappointment, I just see it as luck of the draw - Im more jealous that those people got their card before me, rather than then also getting some code tbh, but we all know that was part of the gamble when we picked a card to go for (and I am one of the many people waiting for an Eagle, so my queue has barely moved)


How to Get the FREE Watch Dogs Legion Code
First, you need to register your graphics card with the participating brands. You need a photo of the Serial Number and its invoice to get a redeem code. Below are the list of brand redeem page where you can register your RTX 30 series graphics card.

As you can see, it's impossible to hold codes back or send them out early, because that is just not how the activation process worked, and thats on Nvidia's end

moved up 20ish in the giga game oc queue. thats good, i guess. actively seeing any card elsewhere though.

Wouldn't the first 10000 orders shipped not be the first 1000 orders anyway ?
 
I decided to cancel my order, don't want to wait a really long time as I have other stuff to be doing. Figured I'm just gonna wait a couple months and use the money elsewhere provided I have enough to buy it when someone has it in stock. Does anyone know how long it takes to receieve your money back once the cancel form is processed? 3 or 4 days?

I wouldn't bother, I'm an old man and no one takes a blind bit of notice of me and most of the time don't even reply to me everyone is too full of their own focused want's

Do you find it unusual to have two different feelings at about two different things? For example I've got a good job, does that mean I shouldn't care if a bird ***** on my head?

It's not complicated: people care about their lives and, now you mention it, a lot of people are turning more to gaming as a safe hobby and a welcome distraction from the awfulness going on.
