*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Getting fairly disillusioned with OC to be honest. Taking money right up front, regardless of stock, still taking preorders (I find this the most baffling), seemingly having one of the worst stock allocations in the UK respite supposedly being one of the biggest suppliers... doesn't quite add up somewhere.

Started making more of a conscious effort at keeping an eye on stock elsewhere rather than just relying on climbing down a queue from 1018th place - a queue that's yet to receive ANY cards in a month.

Other places seem to have a more steady stream of stock, I really don't understand what the problem is here.

So you’re the most recent one star trust pilot review? If you don’t like it cancel, it’s pretty simple. I’ve cancelled 2 pre-orders now when it became obvious I wouldn’t get them any time soon. Will try to get an AMD card or wait until the 3080s are truly in stock.
No I didn't leave a review. Was just reading but people have a right to call overclockers out on this. The issue isn't the wait but how they have handled everything.

Then they shouldn't fill their coffers with peoples money if they haven't got a product to deliver, like they are still doing.

If you want a place in the queue then you pay the price.

If you change your mind you will get a full refund, you just have to cancel.

If you don't want to join a queue then don't do it.

Why is this a problem?

Nobody is forced to participate, and nobody is forced to remain if they change their minds...

I don’t think they’ve handled it any better or worse than any other company. That said, I think they could make it clear on the product pages that they take money up front. Even then people can still cancel if they want their money back.

But are people made aware of this beforehand that they take full payment up front?

And how long have you been working for them, quite some years by your post count

Well it seems that competitors have been more transparent with their customers and receiving more stock? OCUK said they have a special relationship with Nvidia? Is that correct? So surely they should receive more than competitors.

Today so far, I have had no less than 4 friends, or people I know at least throughout my gaming history send me pictures of their lovely new shiny 3080 received on a Saturday morning, not 1 of them ordered from OCUK.

Please OCUK please for the love of god, we are over the fact of the lies about being biggest connection with partners etc, but the least you can do for your customers is be transparent about numbers, we are really not asking for the world here, just a couple of numbers, please!

From what I see of this "Special relationship" I would say it's on a par with the special relationship with the ex-wife!

May well have a special relationship with Nvidia, problem is Nvidia are not making the cards we are all waiting for ie MSI, ASUs, Gigabyte etc. OC seem to get all their cards by the looks of it through a Distributor apart from INNO 3D.
What they need is a good relationship with that Distributor, to enable a good supply.

But are people made aware of this beforehand that they take full payment up front?

Even if you somehow manage to get all the way through the process without noticing you are being asked to pay the full amount, then the moment you do notice and decide you don't like it then go ahead and cancel, the money will be back with you in a few days at most.

Numbers are easily worked out from the queue emails. It also seems Nvidia have NDAs around volume of cards being shipped so I doubt OcUK can give away too much information.

makes me wonda, where all them ppl order their cards and receive them right away..
i keep checking every single other retailer and cant see anything being available :/

What does "Review Bombed" mean? If you mean they are getting loads of bad reviews, well that's nothing new

They actually had a really high rating, years and years of 4-5 star ratings. Now it's just a sea of red and they've already lost a point in the 3 days since I posted mine (4.3 down from 4.4).

Hopefully it'll keep falling. Review scores are the best way for the lower people in a company to prove to the higher ups there's a problem that needs addressing and we might get more information as a result.

I never said they got them right away. I just said they didn't order from ocuk, 1 of them at least I know in real life, ordered same day and time as me within the first hour of release, the others I assume either did the same or got lucky.

Yesterday one retailer had trios and ventus available and people received today. Missed out being at work. Another big retailer has had several different ones especially Palit and Tuf OC popping up but you have to be lucky to grab them.

How come nothing goes on just because it's a Saturday? Pretty much all companies work on a Saturday

Gibbo said a while ago, things still happen but they don't communicate as much (I imagine both the distributor office staff and gibbo are off over the weekends). We usually get a bit more info on a monday than the rest of the week which kinda confirms that too.
