*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

117 for my MSI X Trio must be a lot of animals out there ordering that one, ordered it at 15:07 lol i'm all for waiting like.

Yea you lot ravaging moaning animals!!!

Maybe might get the Rev.2 of the card with the capacitor fix + may get before D2 beyond light
1080p runescape! on 3080RTX maybe i can see my crown with the better visuals!

I guess now that we're getting our positions the next thing would be to find out about stock movements. It's all good them saying "we'll let you know after each shipment" but if there's no shipment for 4+ weeks we're no further forward. How many are expected to arrive and when?
True, but at least they now have a system in place that will allow us to view our queue positions via updates sent through e-mail. Some visibility is better than nothing.

Thanks for going some way to clarify.

So would it be fair to say this fix is essentially a software side step to cover bad hardware design? I ask because there's a tonne of videos regarding capacitors on these cards, with various tear downs explaining they are sub standard for a variety of reasons.

My understanding is that it's only *partly* to do with the capacitors. Yes, they contribute, but nVidia would have tested the designs. The issue is that these cards run so close to the bleeding edge, that sometimes they fail. It's not just about noise from the capacitors, but also RF noise from outside the PC can cause issues too.

My opinion is that the logic regarding temperature and power overhead availability was rewritten, so that it ramps up slowly to make sure it doesn't suddenly hit issues.

edit: oh, and I also heard that the manufacturers weren't actually given the drivers to test, so none of them could actually prove their designs. If anything, it's nVidia's fault, not the manufacturer's.

Damn thats not good, lets hope the cars lives up to all the hype, I haven't upgrade my PC for 5 years but back then I had 2 gtx 1080s commect with SLI. I game on a 4k 55 inch TV, not a great experience but I have no more room for a monitor.

My order for my 3080 MSI Gaming X Trio went through at 21:13pm on the 17th September. Was stuck in a very remote part of the country on average 4G .

I received an email just now to say I'm No. 801 in the queue, now I don't know if that's in total for a 3080 or just for the MSI X GT? I'm obviously hoping its overall.

It'll be for that sku unfortunately...

Just been informed by OC that I am 25th in the Queue for a Asus Strix purchased at 14:27 and 38th in the queue for an Asus TUF purchased at 15:45. In the unofficial queue I was 15th for the strix and 355th for the TUF. Clearly not very accurate on the popular cards.

Well judging by the trickle of cards coming through on the official stock thread, my queue position for asus 3080 non oc would indicate a wait time of 7 months. It is what it is, but I can only imagine pressure mounting towards Christmas so, if lucky march next year. I ordered at about 6am the day after launch.

865 for eagle OC, yup back to f5 mashing because even if Overclockers got 100 eagles a week, which is doubtful, it be over 2 months till I get mine
