*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I think I know which competitor which is being referenced and I want to say at one point all the gpus were discontinued on that competitors website and when they got stock in or actually had an estimate ship for when they got more they returned it.

So its not discontinued, just they don't know when they're getting more stock in and have unlisted it.
I think by at one point you mean days around release day when they didn't know pricing...however it is not listed on there anymore

I took the plunge and ordered the Asus TUF 3080 OC on Friday. No idea where I am in the queue, I haven't received an email (other than the order confirmation). I know emails are sent weekly, though I don't know if they're sent as a batch to everyone at the same time, or sent every week on the day/time you ordered. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

You'll get one Friday morning / afternoon
*an email... definitely not an Asus TUF 3080 OC

LOL, TUF non-OC has been marked as discontinued on competitor's website while OCUK is still selling it :D what a JOKE!

Asus none OC cards.
I finally got an official answer from Asus, none OC cards are not discontinued and still very much part of the range, however as cards are hitting OC levels they are prioritising their manufacturing on OC parts at the moment and as they get more GPUs from NVIDIA they will then also produce none OC cards, not the best news as it means their focus is OC models but the none OC models will come.

But say that was true and they were now discontinued, that would make things real easy for me.
Either I go with RX 6800XT or wait for the 3080Ti to come along.

I probably would wait.

Unfortunately you backed the wrong horse but I totally understand your frustration.

And how was it even possible to 'back the wrong horse' as you put it? This is a retail product that was advertised and sold, I put my trust in both the retailer, manufacturer and invested £700 of my money and yet I may never actually receive it. Saying I'm frustrated is quite the understatement.

Nearly spat my tea out!
me too lmfao :p

we all went into this the same and we all made choices. We all effectively backed a horse.

Nobody knew certain cards would be slow/non existant but we are now where we are. You have the choice to wait and get a card.... eventually or you can cancel. I chose to cancel and go elsewhere that doesnt keep its customers in the dark ;)

Just managed to bag a zotac 3080. So however is in the queue above me for a zotac holo, youve just moved up one place. Thankfully i don’t have to visit this cursed thread anymore. Its been a ride. Guys... keep looking, these cards are out there daily.

Turing architecture hah..... It only took Alan Turing a couple of years to get his PC working, I am wondering how long it will take ASUS to get mine doing the same.
