*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I wish OCUK would put me out of my misery and admit the MSI cards are not coming in any real quantity.
Ordered at 14:37 on launch day as soon as the website recovered. I'm close enough to the front of the queue that if they were not telling porkies I would have shipment notification by now.
The shipment was meant to arrive at OCUK last week but now its Monday afternoon and no information -_-

Hello fellow 14:37 MSI customer, we must have been stood in line together :)

Imagine if all the chips NVIDIA sends to ASUS are able to hit their OC threshold. NON-OC versions will never be available .

Well that was the whole point really, basically save £50 on what is the same hardware, and then just manually OC it.

Personally I think ASUS is being unfair prioritising the OC model.
It amounts to punishing customers and making them wait even longer for buying the better deal.
But at the end of day THEY gave us the choice of these two models.

That last point would be 'fair enough' if they have actually ever made clear to customers that there would be a priority placed on OC card production. I for one would have placed my order for the TUF OC instead of the base model if I knew that's their process.

As it stands, I've basically been told that my queue position 230 is actually 2230 because Im sat behind all the TUF OC orders too.

IMO the non-OC's should've just been released later. They've already announced a 5th SKU which is effectively just a STRIX with an EK waterblock pre-applied, but it's not available for purchase yet. Why didn't they do that with the non-OCs?

I took the plunge and ordered the Asus TUF 3080 OC on Friday. No idea where I am in the queue, I haven't received an email (other than the order confirmation). I know emails are sent weekly, though I don't know if they're sent as a batch to everyone at the same time, or sent every week on the day/time you ordered. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Based on what people have reported here previously, I estimate the queue for that one model is well over 1,500 orders, possibly closer to 2,000. You'll be informed of your actual queue position on Friday or if an order ships. Until now, cards have been trickling in 5-10 at a time, occasionally a few more, in some (but not all) weeks. All other UK retailers stopped taking pre-orders over a month ago, so the queues here are unusually long.

alright so the update i got from OC today on the phone was that they have and are receiving inno stock as of today but should be more through the week( so far they have unpacked x3 3070s and x2 3080s only) hopefully we might see signs of them in peoples hands from friday.

It's not Asus fault though. Buck stops with Nvidia on this one.
Nvidia send GPU and Asus build and test which denotes where it stands in the binning process. If they just slapped them on the PCB willy nilly then those that paid more get a slap in the benchmarks from those that paid less.

Yup it's quite under handed what ASUS is doing.
But like you the ONLY reason I'm sticking with the pre-order is because I'm low down the queue.

But if NVIDIA officially comes out and announces the 3080Ti... then I think I would cancel / skip over the 3080.

This Ampere launch has been the worst launch I've even experienced.
I have never waited so long for a product to be sent to me.

So we have to pester them over the phone to get updates now lol

Theory: AIB partners saw better margins combined with better overclocking abilities with the AMD cards and so saved their production capacity for those cards.

It’s certainly true to say that Nvidia have upset a lot of their supply chain. Who knows.. in a couple of weeks we could be swimming in cheaper, better cards. Fingers crossed, I’d love to end my dealings with Nvidia.

So they may actually be receiving the x4s through the week as planned?
