*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

What on Earth is going on with the savage levels of censorship on this thread? A link that the RTX3060Ti has been delayed 2 weeks, that the latest AMD card outperforms the RTX3070 and that the RTX3080 is outperformed by the AMD card is deemed off topic? How exactly is a set of links which might lead people stuck in interminable queues to change their choice to a different card off topic?

Just how?

Because it's off topic?

If you want to discuss 3060Ti rumours then post in the appropriate thread
If you want to discuss AMD rumours then post in the appropriate thread

If you want to post about your place in the queue, how no stock has arrived yet, and have a general whinge with other like minded individuals about the fact you still haven't got a card, then maybe this is the thread for you

Since joining the queue I follow this thread for chat/updates etc

I agree with him though, some people so unnecessarily upset over a gfx card.

Feel for those people who may have PC gaming as one of their main sources of enjoyment for e.g. medical reasons, but I bet they are in the minority.

A lot of people with very little resilience/coping mechanisms venting their frustrations on here.

I feel i come under this small minority.. I've been on benifits for 12 years now and now that my 6 children are back at school im getting a bit bored. ive cancelled my 3080 order and decided to go for the 3090 because the queues seem smaller but it's still taking some time.

I think some people under estimate just how many people need GPU's for reasons other than gaming. (like me for example)

There are well over 15million subscribers to Adobe CC for example. 90% of them will likely use a high end nvidia GPUs, and a large amount of them are self employed. Same goes for Blender, Cinema 4D, all the Autodesk apps. Engineering, arch vis, video editing, modelling and design are just a few of the reasons. Millions of GPU's are sold every year for non gaming use. And the 3080, with it's high core count and relatively low price will have been on lots of non gamers shopping lists.

The queues would be a lot worse if they didn't take payment up-front. Ideally though 50% should be a sizable chunk to discourage mass orders that are likely to be cancelled if they get stock elsewhere, while also allowing those who ordered in good faith the option to at least pursue one other option at the same time, not necessarily even competitor, perhaps another queue.

Yeah a 50% deposit would possibly be a good thing, but personally I dont mind spending the full amount up front. Because ive paid the full amount upfront it stops me spending the money elsewhere etc. But for some going to another queue with lower stock could be good up to a point, I feel like that may cause issues with queues going all over the place.

I believe in the USA, folk camp outside stores hoping for stock.
I think I’d rather click a button, secure my place in a virtual queue and get on with my life.

Exactly and I know I would rather click a button, spend the money on the card I would have in the first place and get on with doing whatever. Especially with work being so strange in the UK I dont want to risk the chance of something tragic happening with work while im camping outside a shop waiting to get a computer part.

And if I want to discuss with others about how I might not get my card for weeks and what might be a viable alternative where do I go then?

Lol, that's lovely

Must resist the temptation to bite...

If you rely on it for a living, then presumably you could buy a certified card such as a Quadro as business expense?

After 30mins of waiting on the phone I managed to talk with CS and it seems they really can't guarantee any Inno3D 3080 X3 until end of the year. And bear in mind I was first in line for this card.
As it's not possible to queue jump to another card I decided to cancel my order and will look elsewhere. This was my first time ordering from OcUK and might be the last due to the lack of clear communication regarding my particular card. Wish you all the best of luck!

Email from Wouter at Inno Europe:

Thank you for contacting INNO3D, I believe we had mail contact earlier.

Unfortunately, there is no news to report, in terms of availability.
The RTX 3080 iCHILL X3/X4 has not been delivered to OCUK yet, that's right.
At this moment I also can't tell you when this will happen for this card.

Ordinarily yes, but with a 70% reduction in trade due to life being banned, and no government help whatsoever, even the 3080 is stretching it for me. When I heard the performance and price of the 3080 it was a god send, allowing to get the needed performance for far less in such an uncertain time.
