*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

'There's a pandemic on the streets and people getting worked up over a piece of silicon. Unbelievable!' I'd argue it's because there's a pandemic on the streets people are getting so worked up. Firing up your PC and forgetting your troubles is pretty much the only thing the government haven't banned you from doing lately...

It would be just my luck that the Trio turns up before rumours are abound that NVidia is planning the next big thing. Hell, most of us have lost almost two months on this product lifecycle as it is.

I see what you are saying. We need to pre-order those next-major-gen Nvidea's now (4070,4080,4090)

Never too early to setup a preorder, right? :)

Anyone know when Inno3d 3080s x4 are arriving? had a thread closed on me for some reason. apparently 10 where arriving and i was 24th in the que. but no update as to wether they arrived or not
They aren't arriving, there was apparantly an error made back on the 12th October and it was RTX3070s not RTX3080s being shipped, but because Gibbo only touches base with suppliers once a month it wasn't rectified until now. We don't know when any stock might arrive, or if it will arrive - maybe next year perhaps?

shut up, don't know what are you doing here then.

Since joining the queue I follow this thread for chat/updates etc

I agree with him though, some people so unnecessarily upset over a gfx card.

Feel for those people who may have PC gaming as one of their main sources of enjoyment for e.g. medical reasons, but I bet they are in the minority.

A lot of people with very little resilience/coping mechanisms venting their frustrations on here.

A lot over-inflated, self righteous people too...

Most of us accept that NVIDIA is under-producing GPUs (or to quote them, the "demand exceeds the supply").

What most of us are angry about was OCUK claiming to be in the best position, when they get a handfull of cards weekly. Meanwhile the main competitor is getting 300+ cards weekly and handling the FE sales on top of that, and other smaller competitors have had free stock available to sell on a number of occasions. Despite all this, OCUK still takes orders which is a sign of true greed to be honest - anyone pre-ordering here now or even for the last couple of weeks won't be seeing their card until well after most competitors already have free stock available, which means most people buying from OCUK right now will just end up cancelling their order anyway.

You are right OC became really greedy.

OC is selling Ryzen 5090x for £799.99 and the competitor is selling it at the market price which is £749.99.

I work 12hr shifts on the front lines of the pandemic constantly within 6 feet of people entering an International Trade Zone, checking their temperatures, signing them in, and risking my life as part of a high risk group since our stupid government doesn't mandate masks. I wear my own, but the people entering the port do not. I feel I deserve some active stress-free entertainment when I'm off the clock. I can't even imagine myself some entertainment with aphantasia. Television doesn't do it for me as I need something that keeps my mind engaged. Athletics? Once upon a time... but my turf toe injury that never healed says no.

Never too early in the wonderful world of computer hardware / gaming consoles! Still, it would be nice if we could enjoy the product we paid for without being inundated with influencers and the others drumming up hype for the next big thing before we have even plugged in the product that we have been waiting almost two months for.

After this, I am definitely skipping the next generation.

In the queue for Gigabyte Gaming OC at 241, literally only gone down 20 places since release so really starting to wonder if I backed the wrong horse on this one.

I have patience but this whole fiasco is starting to get a bit silly to be honest.

I dont agree with how angry people are getting and how some people are personally blaming Gibbo.

They are doing the best they can with stock and they cant force suppliers to give them extra.

I get people may be annoyed as it isnt an insignificant amount of money to have up in the air, myself included for not having the most amount of money in the world.

But people need to understand that this issue isnt just OcUK, its all over the world, and during these uncertain times a graphics card is the least of people worries. If you're so annoyed or concerened with OcUK having your money then there is nothing stopping you cancelling and going elsewhere that may possibly have some.

People seem to be taking this a little far, OcUK are within their rights to have the money for the card as a pre-order as it secures that you get a card whenever the stock becomes available.

And an older Graphics card can't do this because?

not blaming overclockers but there is no stock so what are you talking about.

What on Earth is going on with the savage levels of censorship on this thread? A link that the RTX3060Ti has been delayed 2 weeks, that the latest AMD card outperforms the RTX3070 and that the RTX3080 is outperformed by the AMD card is deemed off topic? How exactly is a set of links which might lead people stuck in interminable queues to change their choice to a different card off topic?

Just how?

The queues would be a lot worse if they didn't take payment up-front. Ideally though 50% should be a sizable chunk to discourage mass orders that are likely to be cancelled if they get stock elsewhere, while also allowing those who ordered in good faith the option to at least pursue one other option at the same time, not necessarily even competitor, perhaps another queue.

I believe in the USA, folk camp outside stores hoping for stock.
I think I’d rather click a button, secure my place in a virtual queue and get on with my life.
