*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Maybe we need a daily press conference where someone stands up and says the same thing every day, much like the COVID-19 press conferences during lockdown.
or do what other places do have nice table on their website that updated daily.... with brand model Amount & expected dates.

Not even worth worrying about. They said they had 1000 codes and in 3 weeks have shifted less that 200 gpus. I'm sure by the time they get anywhere near 1000 more codes would have been sent.

And by that time the codes would have expired, so hopefully the deadline gets extended otherwise a lot of people with codes won't be able to get their free game

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but the codes ran out on the first day, they only had 1000. If you ordered past the first hour or so, your chances of getting a code are zero unless they give OCUK more.
Oh right well surely they knew they couldn't give a code to all preorders, so why not say something like whilst stocks last. That's like a car salesman advertising a car, as having a spare tyre Then when you have bought it you find out it was only for select customers, which wasn't mentioned before

Nah, we get some ropey old post on a forum saying "A bakers dozen of <insert brand except strix> coming in on the morrow" and are supposed to be happy with that level of communication.

How do you know they only sold 200? Someone said previously that they had 500 in stock on first day but that obviously was sold within minutes, if not seconds past 14:00

Retailers can take pre-orders without being issued an allocation from a manufacturer. They may have been given a formal non-binding agreement of a supply, just not a specific unit allocation.

Im not sure really. The seller must expect to fulfill that order within 30 days. Meaning they must have some idea of stock to keep with that obligation. Also when funds are taken its with the understanding that those funds are then used to purchase a card. I don't know the rules around taking funds that are then left on a balance sheet with no stock date known. At the end of the day it would be silly for anyone to go down the legal path. That doesn't mean it couldn't be done or the spirit of consumer law lines up.

I have a reciept for an RTX 3080, with watchdogs and GeForce NOW next to it. I'm sure others do too. I'm pretty sure that means we will get the codes, whether nVidia or OCUK pay for them. Doesn't matter if they try to use the limited numbers caveat, it's on your receipt, the goods are owed.

there is also something else that on receipt and that’s the price of said bundle and it’s 0.00 since everyone seems to be talking legal stuff now they owe you 0.00 refund for not being able to provide it

If there's going to be a loss of promotional bundle then OC should give customers a small refund to compensate us for the trouble. What's the problem sending the promotional bundle anyway?
At least for Watchdogs, you need the card in your machine (or some fun workaround) to redeem it. I am surprised they hadn't gone with a "why not have your GeForce Now promotional right now!" to salve the folk who'd sold on their GPU already.

And they burn hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of future orders from disgruntled customers.

I'm building a new rig currently. Out of the £2500 that has been spent, only the GPU has come from here. After this debacle, my money went elsewhere for the rest. In future, nothing will come from here. Three weeks in, and I am 38th in a queue, with a trader that claims to be a big fish, when they can't even move you along the queue fairly (apparently 44 - 8 = 38!). Snake oil.
