*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Having had the Strix OC 3090 for over a week now, initial thoughts, it runs hot - stock settings including fan, it will reach 75deg easily with 82% fan, it boosts occasionally to 2050mhz out of the box (rare due to the temps), upping power limit to 110 increases the heat so much that above that (even the 123%) you basically need a custom loop, so dont bother trying to OC it that much on air. As previously states in a few posts, ive undervolted it so now running 1980-2010mhz @ 978mv, this drops the temps by about 10deg and the fan speed down to mid 60's (not even audible). It actually gets better bench scores and FPS in games due to the clock is not fluctuating around, this uses under 100% power and about 80-90% instead of over 100%. But my tests are not complete yet. But boy, is it powerful, 90-110fps in St Denis on RD2 @ 4k ultra is a sight to see.

PNY cards are now listed as in-stock ... I know the price is at a bit of a premium, but any reason why they're not getting snapped up? I've no prior experience of PNY so I'm hesitant. Any significant reason not to grab one?

I was thinking the same thing. From what I have read about them, they seem to be good in previous generations anyway. Havnt read anything bad (yet). Maybe they are still in stock is because of the price tag and the new AMD card to compete with the 3090 is only $999 so people might be holding off

Nice of @Gibbo to inform us of these card coming in to stock....no wait!

I’m half expecting to get a despatch email before I get the next MSI update from Gibbo

Personally, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever consider an MSI product of any kind. I've seen on/off availability of MSI cards and I'm wondering if that is because they're feeling the pinch due to others like myself that feel the same. MSI RTX cards are totally off the table as far as I'm concerned.

Only 5 left now - seem to be selling at that 1700 price

You dont think you will be paying RRP for amd cards on release, they will be scalped too, one thing for sure don't expect massive stock levels. they will be snapped up quick and over priced for sure.

They are not getting snapped up from here because they are selling right now in stock at a good few places from £1555 to £1611 there are two models same board but different cooler design shroud but cooler is same under it. Price on here for it is a bit much they need to adjust it because others have it way less and lots of stock of it about. They are good cards and PNY is the only Nvidia card maker that is allowed to make and sell the professional Nvidia cards too, they make the quadros and the A.I nvidia servers etc. The PNY card that is sold by PNY is actually a Gainward phoenix 3090 with PNY labels on the fan. The components are pretty good on it for a 2 8pin card.

See here what I mean https://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=1090&lang=en

The other card with different shroud by PNY is same but PNY designed shroud nothing different under it same cooler and board.
