*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

For real-world gaming (i.e. benchmarks aside) is it worth the effort and cost (there wouldn't be any profit in it) of punting on a 2x8-pin card that's power limited in order to replace it with something that's got 3x8-pin to achieve a higher OC?

Would be on air cooling not water.

No. As it all depends on the silicon lottery,. I have got a pretty lemon asus strix oc and even under water can only manage 2155 for benchmarks and 2100 for gaming.

I know people with 2 pin gpus on air that have higher boosts than that.

The extra power pin only helps if you have a lucky chip and are hitting the power limit of the card.

No guarantee that if that is what you have now, that you get lucky again with your new 3 pin power chip. It may overclock worse than your old card.

Now if I owned a lemon 2 pin card and could get my money back or even sell at a profit, I would chance my arm with anther card and you may as well go three pin.

I got COD Black Ops Cold War as Nvidia have extended the promotion until 11th Jan 2021. It's a PITA to redeem though. You have to get a code from the retailer, put it into Geforce experience and then set up a battlenet account. If you haven't got an activision account it won't play! So you have to sign up for one of those too. It's a great game though with everything maxed at over 120FPS.

What res? I have everything maxed out at 3840 x 1600 and I am not getting over 120fps?

Mine is boosting to 1920/1935 with an undervolt.

That's the absolute best I can get out of my system currently and the card is constantly at power limit (running 3090 Aorus Master on air). What do you reckon?

There haven't been many updates regarding the Aorus 3090 Master, last mention was on the 18th of Dec on a shipment of 10pc.
The only other mention of this model was the day before quoting 8pc were due in "...around two weeks".

I ordered on the 15th and have only moved from position 17 to position 15 since then. So my question is, has anyone here received this 3090 model? Or were those two positions up I moved people cancelling their orders?
I'd like to think I'm patient, but seeing stock of other models come and go, and considering this model has never left 'pre-order' status it's not inspiring confidence that these cards are anywhere close to being delivered.

I don't know why you under volt.
Just let it rip :D

I get 2000 boost with no overclock.

Which card do you have and does it maintain 2000 boost for the majority of the time?

EDIT: I'm pretty sure I am topping out at 1900-1935 due to power limit, not silicon. PerfCap reason is "power" almost 100% of the time.

I have seen it boost to 2000+ but it's rare and usually in lower load scenarios.

It's a RTX3090 VENTUS 3X OC 24 GB OC.

I have a fan cure using EVGA 1.06 and it keeps the temps to 50C after 4 hours of playing.
It goes between 1980-2000 clock speed. Never above or below

Ordered on 22nd Dec when 10+ of stock showing but no idea where in queue I am as not received any emails yet or nothing- unless I’m not looking right which is entirely possible:D

Just 2560x1440 for me on a 144hz freesync monitor. That's with all RTX options at Ultra but no DLSS. It's greyed out for me.

Ordered my 3090 on the 24th of Sept. And I'm still waiting. There has been no stock ever announced for it on the stock thread. Yet the queue has gone from 51, to 15.

Please can I have an update on the Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3090 Xtreme?

Did the queue go down as people got their cards, or because they just gave up waiting and cancelled the order.

That is pretty much exactly my situation in pos 13, for an Asus 3090 tuf non oc. Never a mention of it in any delivery or up date news. All I can guess is the changes are cancellations but if they were on pre order, as advertised on the site, then they should be included in the updates.. very frustrating. Specifically want this card.

@Gibbo I'd like to know if any of these have ever actually arrived as well or if all cancelled orders?

I imagine they all cancelled. The 3080ti is just around the corner, and will be far superior to the 3090 from a price/performance gaming wise. Wouldn't surprise me if it beats the 3090 in games.

That would suprise me to be honest. The 4090 is just around the corner after that and it will probably will be better for gaming as well. Good thing I'm not looking to play kids games.

Thought I would let you know.

I over clocked the memory by 300 and that affected the GPU clocks(GPU clocks would not stay at 2000 boost).

So I I want to overclock both I will need to flash a firmware with more volts.
