NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, the flagship reinvented

Didn't even realise it was out today.
Absolutely chunkariffic.

I'm pleased that NVIDIA already maxed out the RAM with the 3090, so i'm not even slightly tempted.

I'm sure this has been already asked but is there a Founders Edition?

Tall about cheap and tacky, christ. May as well get a piece of black string and do the same thing.

We use to do that back in the old days a bit of fishing string or bungee cord even for hard drives with the bungee cord to stop vibrations.

Seems some at EVGA have not entered the year 2022 yet and still living in the 1990's. With the most expensive consumer graphics card ever they do that lol. Says a lot about them really. They went down hill right after the 900 series cards, last nice card I got from them was the 980 Ti Classified after that all cheap junk even their KingPin 2080ti that lasted less than 24 hours and was sent back.

Yup same build as a 3090 FE, just new 16pin connector for power now and £479 added on to the price.

I like the creative thinking. But these multi slot cards need to focus on being thinner/lighter than messing about with brackets.

No real way of doing that with the power draw of cards these days, if you go aircooling then a larger heatsink is always going to be needed. Though i do think they've maxed out the size they can be with some of these cards

It has become a gamer tax excuse as such. Look at the price of RGB fans versus standard and you see the massive jump in price. Even gamer marketing has become the pits.

I agree, it is very poor value for money. I haven't got any RGB fans, I have an RGB AIB but I did not buy it becuase of that. My GPU has RGB but again, i'd have bought it without RGB, I bought both for their cooling/noise capabilities. My keyboard and mouse have RGB but that has a function as I like to play in a darkish environment, both lights go off in daylight.

But people like a lot of shiny lights and so in the end it's companies giving people what they've shown they will overpay for.

Case is on the floor under desk, but a lot people like a eye burning light show on their desk.

RGB definitely has its merits for keyboards. As you said, you could be in a low lit room or lights out.

Yeah, so while there's been plenty of negatives with PC gamig over the year, how we interface with games with Keyboards and mice, both are light years better thasn 15 years ago.

For sure, I'll never go back to a non rgb keyboard, the rgb makes keys easier to see

Never go back to non-mech keyboards either. I had a MX518 for 10 years at least, classic mouse - but not even in the same league as what I have now. Monitors? Night and day again, how you interface now is different world to back then. Mopuse mats are better - user experience is far superior now.

Been keeping eye on FE, clicked on the 3090ti link and like everyone else, kind of shocked it's still in stock lol. Well maybe not surprised due to electric costs / mining at home being in the dumpster.
