NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, the flagship reinvented

There are better ways of improving gaming graphics performance on a PC.

I have just this moment done that and ordered the parts from OcUK for a 12900KS based system. The only thing I am waiting for now is the actual CPU to become available as I don't like doing pre orders.

This will greatly improve the performance of my older single thread games due to the high IPC of the CPU.

If I had bought a 3090 Ti it would have done nothing to help with my older games.

If there is going to be a demand for an owners thread I will do one.

Guys let me know if it is worth doing one please.

I think it's worth doing one not just for the list of owners but for the work and information you put into them and the different models that come to market, I actually like the threads because I like to go back and see what the cards at that time looked like and their specs at the time etc, the owners lists is great as it shows how popular they were with the OCUK forum users too and as we know we get some lemons sometimes and owners highlight that too.

I actually really enjoy them threads because of all the information in them provided by you and the owners. :)

I will do one then before the weekend when I am off work.:)

Nvidia dropped the ball with this one, if they had used these chips for 3080/3090 then they would have sold out.

But they don’t care. All they’ve done it for is to one up AMD so they can claim to have the fastest card again. The 6900 took the raster crown, even if the current AMD cards do suck at RT, I’m assuming Nvidia have now taken it back.

I’ve not read any of the reviews so that is an assumption on my part so I may be wrong.

Where are all the 3090ti founders edition reviews? Can’t find a single one online.

All AIB cards are going to 3.5-4 slot cooler designs, wanted to see if the stock 3090 cooler managed to do the job of cooling the Ti.

In the 2 generations that have arrived since the 1080ti we've seen the halo card increase in price from £700 > £1000 > £1879 with performance increasing by 80% yet in the 2 generations prior to the 1080ti the price only increased by £150 yet performance went up by 150% so people are paying much more for far less nowadays.

Welcome to Moore's law + western reserve banks printing money. Thanks modern economics!

I watched Jayz2cents review of the 3090Ti.
My take-away.

It's too expensive. The performance and price show that the law of diminishing returns has well and truly kicked in.

It's power hungry like a son of a...

It requires really high end CPU to avoid or at least minimize throttling issues.

But none of the above is really relevant because

Yep it's a Halo product that most people can't afford nor take advantage of.

Of more interest to me from the Jayz2cent review is to see that the 3080Ti and 'normal' 3090 have near identical performance, and in the real world neither of those is all that far ahead of the 3080.

But ypu are forgetting that Nvidia has now droped the Titan line for gamers. You have to compare Titan GPUs with the 3090ti. The 3090 replaced the 80ti cards
