Out of curiousity why did you try to order it before reading the reviews? The 470 doesnt really hold up well in the reviews at all, the 480 does reasonably (kinda) but the 470 just doesn't for its price. Read reviews, make a well informed decision.

Yep, pretty much what everyone said. The 480 is about 10-20% better performance (in most games anyway, the rest it stomps all over) than the 5870, for 50% more price.

I need to update my monkey picture to something about the price, but its bedtime so will have to wait till tomorrow.

You know I really do get confused with all these cards and prices....

Why then is this card such poor value, or say, as I really do not know what is what, a GTX 480 badly priced when a ATI 5970 is on this very site for £550...

Reading around, the GTX 480 at £450 is actually not much better than a 5870 vapor-x right? I don't know fully. As if so, I paid £330 for my ATI 5870 vapor-x and now my purchase, if going on what I'm reading doesn't seem quite so bad...

So Nvidia new flagship card can't even compete with a 5870 on price per performance? And costs nearly £100 more? Yeah, can't see that one flying off the shelf, unless I've missed something really important...

So what is the 5970? Is that still the fastest GPU you can buy, if you can afford such a card..!! If so, those who purchased a 5970 will be pleased, as if this is true then don't expect the price of a 5970 to drop anytime soon... ATI must be wetting themselves - or AMD must be mightily pleased if this is all true...

Now this is coming from someone who has owned both Nvidia and ATI products, so I'm certainly no fanboy... lol

think guru3Ds review is tommorow i read somewhere, so maybe i'll wait for that.

Its up now

Dont bother, look elsewhere, they couldnt be more biased if they tried, All the others seem to report similar findings, but gurus conclusion is embarrassing

NVIDIA regains the performance crown and is back in the saddle like a cowboy after a harsh shootout, riding its horse into the sunset.
