Nvidia GTX280/260 and 9800GTX/+ 177.39 Beta Driver with PhysX-Support

I get the same with the carwash demo - but everything else seems to be working...

so I guess the carwash demo needs to be recompiled with a newer version of the SDK - or the drivers are still not completely finished :P

I get "Failed to load PhysX cooking library"

I Just updated from 169.21 to 177.39 and saw no improvement. I ran 3DMark05 and 06 and Crysis bench at 0, 2 and 4xAA all high 1650x1080 and then installed the PhysX driver and ran the tests again.

At each stage 3DMark was unchanged (+/-50-200 points) but in Crysis i lost 1fps when going from 169.21-177.39 and then another 1fps when i installed the PhysX driver - doesnt sound a lot but in a game like Crysis where every frame counts it makes a difference - thats a 6% loss in performance :-/

Everything seems fine with 177.39, except for a really annoying graphical glitch in crysis, when turning on and off invisibility.

That would be because it doesnt work in 3DMark 05 or 06 only Vantage.

Ok after a few hours of testing, COH does not seem to be listed as such, yet to me I can see a deffinite change to some effects with the PhysX drivers installed.

Protip: COH uses a modified Havok Engine not Aegia/Nvidia Physics. Any change is coincidental.
Company of Heroes also utilizes the Havok 3 physics engine, giving it a more realistic physics system than previous RTS games - Wikipedia

Wow, these drivers are not great in terms of fps.

Huge loss in fps on the nfs series, cnc3, ut3 and 2142.

COD4 gained a few fps but now suffers from stuttering.

I've had to turn aa off in the more taxing titles because fps is so low. :(

Oh well, waiting for the next batch of drivers.....

Will the physx drivers work with the GTX260 on the 177.35 whql driver or is just the beta 177.39 driver you have to use?

Just install the Nvidia PhysX 8.06.12 driver, linked on the first post.

It will work with the 177.35 WHQL drivers on your card.

Upgraded from 175.16 to 177.39 with modded .inf file for my GTS 512 and can confirm that it works.

1/1.5 FPS drop in Crysis VHigh 1680x1050 benchmark, but oddly gameplay appears better and smoother, possibly due to increase in minimum framerates although haven't done any extensive testing.

Although PhysX not directly supported in Crysis (I think...) it certainly has cleared up gameplay nicely in the Ice levels for me. Odd graphical glitch when switching between modes though, driver issue most probably rather than PhysX.

3Dmark06 unchanged, as expected at just under 13k.

Its a keeper for me!
