September or October

Nvidia's executive said in a room full of analysts that highly anticipated Crysis the first real DirectX 10 game comes in September or October 2007. He didn’t want to stick to a date but at least he gave us a timeframe.

This is definitely something that Nvidia needs in order to sell even more of its DirectX 10 cards. In November the company plans a new high end card based on 65 nanometre process and it definitely need the content that can push the limits.

Usually when a source says September to October you should bet most of your money to October, and this introduction will certainly boost EA financial numbers and pre Xmas sales as many would like to buy this title.

According to a same senior VP source at Nvidia, Crytek the company behind Far Cry and Crysis sold more than a million copies of Far Cry.

Is it likely Nvidia will launch its new cards before the actual crysis release?

Same time I reckon nvidia want to cash in on this big time. Can't blame them really can you. :)

doubtful tbh, would be nice if they did, and hopefully my DD gtx watercooling blocks will fit the new cards, otherwise im gonna have to wait for some to be produced then buy the cards.

as for the release date, he is right, october is most likely going to be the most realistic timeframe lol

No idea what that means.
we all knew about the 8800's etc for like a year before they came out, now a new unnamed card is due out on a couple of months?

September is too early imho,

I am thinkin october for a beta or demo and november for the full thing.

Far cry had a demo out months before the game, infact they released 2 demos which was good to test out performance.

Its not really unnamed :s They kept it all a bit more quiet because the 8800s are currently unbeatable really. We get new cards every few months, nothing new here. Chances are its just an 8series refresh, faster, less power consumption, less heat.

Ditto playable demo for September/October and then full release November theres just too much money to say no too. hopefully bioshock comes out August/keeps us entertained for 5 minutes.

Ar man I thought the Sept 14th date was official, now it might be October :(

God job BioShock is out in a couple of weeks. It is right???

if they did release new cards for crysis release which i think they will then nvidia would own all sectors 88oogts 320 becomes the new mid range king and above say no more .

agree, seems as though ATI have took the same beating AMD have done with there cpu's tbh, just falling behind.

they better pull out some really big trick in order to gain the consumer trust back

Why? Are you thinking that your current dual 8800GTX cards won't run it ok?
