Nvidia patents a turbofan to cool the upcoming GPU

Titan Z is grossly overpriced regardless of how Nvidia market it. Which by the way is along with having compute features still being marketed as the best 'Gaming' GPU.

It's a shocking price by anyone's standard, not something any PC enthusiast should be happy about regardless if your an AMD or Nvidia fan.

The real joke is lambchop is running about trying to inform us all that a lot of the price premium has to do with the cooler, so apparently extending the fin stacks on the reference 690 cooler to make it triple wide to dissipate more heat is worth 900 quid....Quite obviously this is where the cost premium is and has nothing at all to do with NVidia burying the arm in.....I really despair about this place. :(

Not sure if all Nvidia reference coolers are any good. The GTX760 one at least had throttling problems according to one major German website, and the one on the GTX660TI was a bit meh too.

We may never know because Nvidia did not give a sample to mainstream reviewers, most of whom warm up the card before benching.

Ive heard a reference 670 cooler and was pretty impressed with it. Not sure about the 760 though, a card that i never seen much point in anyway tbh. A step down from the 670 that it replaced. Iv used mainly non ref cards lately, gb wf models. However in looking at a reference 780 to pair up with my current 780 wf. Bit wary of having two of the latter in sli on this board. 670 wf cards ran ok but top card ran 15c higher than the bottom one, 70c and 55c.

Back on topic.

The Titan style coolers were already excellent, had two ref 780 Ti's in SLI and the cooling was awesome.

If they can improve this further good on em.

I'm not defending anything it's just quite clear you don't buy a card like that for standard gaming.

I don't think you are intelligent enough to answer judging by the last few posts you have made. But I am still asking you to show some evidence that it's main purpose isn't gaming.

If Jen-Hsun Huang says its a gaming card how can you say it's not?

This one went badly off topic, what has a new nv fan patent design got to do with the titan z. A card that's already released, and more importantly has its own discussion thread.
