** NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 780 & 770 MASSIVE PRICE DROP!! **

All triggered by the iminent launch on 31st october of the AMD R9 290.

Suggested to be $100 cheaper than the 290X and still easily hits 780 performance.

I think nvidia will probably have to shave another £30 off their prices yet. Picked up in the game bundle perhaps.
 
So This is why AMD wouldn't release their prices until the last minute. They knew as soon as they did Nvidia would trump them. If they'd have disclosed the prices before release and nvidia had reacted before the 290x was even on sale It would have put one big nail in their coffin

Currently the nail is well in and the games bundle is yet to come, AMD has to drop price on the 290x.

Will they though? Like I said not even one week after release and it will anger their fans who pre-ordered/bought early. Potentially making them send it back and go 780 :eek:

The HOF is only a two slot card judging by the pictues. It is however quite wide (will stick out quite a bit over its PCB) - could foul a side fan in a smaller case.

About to place an order once the three games go live (I actually want to play blacklist) - Was going to wait for the 290 but the 290x stock cooler makes it a non purchase for me.
 
Gibbo I see the game bundle already available in the GPU section but not yet added to the GPUs will the bundle actually be added sooner than 2pm?

Was holding out for the 290(non x) release but these prices and the games is sooo tempting. Would be rude not to buy one lol.

Hmm me thinks I'll be taking a trip to OCUK shop this afternoon.
 
Am I the only one who thinks this is the price they should have come in at initially considering the hardware on sale? So excitement is a bit of an overreaction.
GPU markets treating us mean to keep us keen, and it's working.

I get the impression this is the case. People bitching and moaning about the R9 series should take note - this is what competition does to pricing.
