Competitive pricing would be £120 for the 768MB and £160 for the 1GB.

Why so low? The 192bit/768MB version seems to be pretty much equal to the 5830, which is £160 minimum.

Those prices would be nice of course, but to compete they only need to be around the same price at best.

192 bit should priced against the 5770, 256 bit the 5830. 5830 is not much faster than a 5770, to have a 768 mb card come out priced at the lowest 5830 price is just ridiculous.

But why? If the 192bit version is as fast or faster than a 5830, why would they want to price it against the 5770?

EDIT: just read your edit, well if it's the RAM amount that makes you say that, that's fair enough, but we'll have to see how much difference it makes first i think.

For a start until we see reviews we don't know how fast it is, the fact that it has 768mb of memory is enough to drop it well below a 5830 in price.

Forgot to add, seen a couple of uk etailers with prices of around £170 last night... for the 768mb version.

If it isnt something that causes Ati to lower their prices by at least 25% then I'm not gonna be the slightest bit impressed
