** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES (3090 / 3080 / 3070) NOW ONLINE AT OcUK **

why have you paid almost 50% over the odds for a 3070?

The last time I bought a graphics card was in 2014 and I remember the reference card sounding so loud, so I'd always get the strix, it's a very quiet card and it has never let me down, it looks nice so i'd rather re purchase it again unless the 3080 card sounds quiet.

My friend has a 2080ti FE card, and his already having issues loading up games, so I prefer having a branded card.

Plus I'm likely going to be cpu bound with a 1080p 240hz monitor and on 8th gen i7, no need for 3080, kinda overkill anyways, and i am planning to go to 3080ti next year , once intel pulls out there new cpu line up

Honestly i wouldn't bother with Intel again now for a while, i think AMD got the crown now for a few generations at least. Would have a serious look at the 6800 reviews before making a final decision of graphics also

AMD is deffo my CPU choice, but it also comes down to what other uses you have for the card. Pure gaming and not worried about Ray Tracins as such, AMD is a real contender now, if you have any other professional use, video render and streaming, the Nvidia extras, like broadcast t etc might tip the balance to Nvidia. Don't think they will sut on their hands, might be a reaction with a Super and more VRAM, maybe a 3080, or 3070 Super with more Vram but GDDP6 rather than 6X priced below 3080, with nearly same perf

I wouldn't buy either. We need a 3080 that uses less power. Hopefully the next models with 7nm might be better? Until then I'm waiting. These current Nvidia cards suck

Lets see what AMD bring

They are quite power hungry but having already gone a bit overkill on my PSU I don't see that as a problem... They suck? It's outperforming a 2080ti at less than half the cost how can you say that sucks? Regardless of what AMD brings to the table that doesn't suck... AMD's line up do look good but AMD have talked big in the past, more than once before letting everyone down, so I'd wait for reviews.
One of them does seem to trade blows with the 3080 but is almost certainly not going to trade blows with ray tracing capabilities going off the unveil, of course many won't care about that, but at $650 it's not that competitive... It's similarly priced, the 3080 at launch was £650 (not sure what it was in $). But even now before AMD's cards have had a chance to inflate, £50-£80 isn't that much more for better ray tracing performance.
Of course we'll have a better idea when reviews start to come out though I just don't see how you can say the 30 series sucks, stock issues aside.

Just wear headphones for a year, save £200 and deny ASUS a sale at criminally inflated prices.

Does anybody know if OCUK were delivering during the last national lockdown? If not we could all be seeing a delay of another month...
as far as im aware they still delivered.

Took a bit longer to get the deliveries out due to the 2m distance in their warehouse but they still got stuff out
