NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Its either low IQ or maybe they are planning to file a chargeback and return a brick.

I suspect we'll see many stories of bricks being returned instead of cards, during the 30 day returns window. These are just too tempting to not attract the parasites that enjoy this.

The buying pre-built notion is undone a little though as a lot of places offering builds make it clear (well those that don't probably should) that you are still in a pre-order system. Now maybe a place will place priority on a build, or may secure OEM parts somehow, but it's not a walk-in/walk-out situation. You could still face a wait.

I've thought of doing the same myself, not necessarily to secure a 5090, just that a 5090 was going to go into a new build anyway. Held off for the time being, and have settled in a pre-order for the GPU for now.

Money fortunately not an issue at the moment, but one thing I won't do is pay over the odds to some scalper.

After seeing how well the 5080 has been overclocking I'm tempted to just cancel my 5090 preorder and try getting a 5080 instead now. Position hasnt changed on preorder since launch day and still no estimated despatch date

Not a terrible idea tbh if you could get a good AIB 5080 for <£1,200 but the prices do currently seem quite inflated.

Was browsing elsewhere and found. 5080 saying delivery in March so ordered thinking I'll sell my 4070ti in the meantime. Then get a notification this morning saying it'll be delivered today. Slight dilemma as now I might have to return it.
What model did you buy to get such a quick delivery?

If this is accurate this doesn't actually make any sense as I was 116th on launch down now I'm down to 104, I don't understand how you're only down to 111 unless the first day was a bit buggy with where people were supposed to be in the queue based upon order time.
It's accurate. I wrote a script to scrape the results when it changed. I heard some people went up in the queue instead of down, so I wanted a log.

I wonder if they use order time instead of payment processing time hence why some people saw a jump up in places. Like if it took a while for finance to be approved they might not show up in the queue instantly and when they do others get moved back.

Makes you wonder how the third party sellers don't go bust when they have nothing to sell

Most likely the main reason why they need to charge £500+ over the FE model
Because they have thousands of retailers to supply around the world. Ocuk and Scum don't get first dibs

Probably i was 112 in the queue for a Zotac Solid at the other place i checked a couple of days later and i moved up to 160 i was surprised as i thought people paying by finance would be further up the queue maybe they do it a different way to Overclokcers.

Well, the other site with the pre-orders is all closed, right on 24hrs.

Based on that, they had zero idea how much stock was coming in as each card should have in my view close on a set number of pre-orders for said card, but I have been tracking all cards that opened for pre-order, and all stayed live right up to 24hrs.

Sounds like a nice interest free loan they wanted, but good luck to the guys who ordered as I doubt I have the patience keep looking at my queue count if I am getting closer to zero.
My pre order is on interest free paypal credit so its only costing monthlies, I'm looking for an FE in the meantime but I wouldn't be so keen to drop a £2k+ full payment for the hope of getting one in summer

Thinking about it, why on earth don't the people that buy from scalpers just go and buy a pre-built with a 5090 in and then just swap the 5090 into there PC and the sell off the parts from the "new" PC and recoup some costs.. or just keep the PC and it will still probably be cheaper than buying from a scalper.

For the price some people pay you can get a nice 9800X3D build with a 5090 Astral OC cheaper than what that person paid Hostile for a MSI Suprim 5090
because those pre-build are sold out as well.

Even asus astral after OC will get you 5 more FPS, not even close to 5090 tier.
