NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Looks like The Other Place had an Asussy day today. Their daily updates are starting to become slightly more useful than the "nope, nothing happening" we saw for a couple of weeks.
Anything happening anywhere is a good sign. As you say, days of nothing with no ETAs was rather discouraging.

My 5080FE has been despatched. Bit of buyer's remorse as I wanted a 5090 as I do a lot of VR. Having said that, when stock is more plentiful later in the year I can always upgrade again. I've got some inheritance coming so I'll put it to good use :D

I tried earlier too but gone in seconds.

It's really the 5090 I want too but I'll take a 5080 if I can get it.

Can always pass it on to my son if I manage to get a 5090 later.

I've been looking at the RTX 5070Ti cards but many seem to come with 3x8-pin to 12-pin adapters ? I thought the 5070Ti only required 2 x 8-pin (300w) power?

Does it depend on the specific card as I only have a 650w PSU with 2x8pin connectors??

what is this other place and drop notifications ppl keep on talking bout, i click on most sites like 10 times a day and ive never seen a 5090 anywhere
A competitor site opened pre-orders at about 4pm on the 30th January after the initial stock had sold out.
If you have a pre-order, you get an ETA and live queue position on their site. Some people are 200+ in the queue for certain cards, so there must be a LOT of pre-orders. I think since the 30th, they’ve taken another batch of pre-orders.

I’m no 3 in the queue for an ASUS TUF OC 5090 - jumped from 13 to 3 yesterday… so they must’ve got a batch of 10 into stock (or maybe more and used some for full builds). Hopefully mine will ship in the next batch

Definitely 10 sold. Im 14 and 4th now.

That's good so seems that they expect a delivery of Zotac 5090's today or even yesterday with dispatch today so queue numbers should change.
My worry though like in the US they are prioritising cards in builds as it is more profit for the retailer.

Can you let me know if it is dispatched today and will check my queue number tonight and hopefully would have dropped a few positions.

UPDATE:
Just checked and dropped 2 positions from 58 to 56 in the last 16 hours - Maybe they got about 10 cards in and prioritising builds.
Following a phone call from a very helpful person had to change GPU due to no stock, had a choice of two manufacturers or could wait a number of weeks for more to become available but no set dates when they would be available. Chose the cheaper option rather than one that was significantly more! System to be built tomorrow

What did you change to, out of interest?
