NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

some guy who pre-ordered his £2650 5090 had to cancel his 5090 because he is being made redundant from his 15 year job, company closing down due to a bad economy, along with 30 of his colleagues, so I looked online and 2000 uk companies went bust in the year 2024 with 2025 looking bad, the world is in turmoil and
people still want £3000 gaming cards

This FOMO is actually a thing

To be fair, the TUF OC would be mid range (not the non OC MSRP version) and it'd be on par with the cards like MSI Trio / Gigabyte Gaming OC which both sold for around £2500. But I'm definitely saying this as I just spent £2750 for the same card earlier today and wanna make myself feel better about it lmao.
My pre-order 5090 TUF OC was £2580, and I think that was retail with no scalping.

TBH, my first choice was one of the basic <£2000 cards, but I went with the TUF OC as it promised the best delivery date.
I’m still hoping for a FE before it ships

Did you order from here?

Very well documented on various sites.
Just Google Zotac delays.

They stated they wouldn't start shipping to early/mid Feb, so they will likely be landing at some point in the next 2 weeks.
Being 56 in the queue for one - Will probably be April before I get mine, but will most likely cancel mine before then.

My excitement for the 5000 series has pretty much gone and will probably get the Samsung Odyssey Gaming OLED G8 for £760 instead of a 5090, as bored of waiting now.
ooof, your right, I googled it and there is a shortage:

Why are there delays?
  • Late production: Nvidia started production of the RTX 50 series very late, almost at the end of January

  • Component shortages: There are shortages of components needed to manufacture the RTX 50 series

  • Earthquake in Taiwan: An earthquake in Taiwan destroyed some TMSC wafers, which delayed mass production

  • Chinese New Year: The Chinese New Year may have influenced mass production issues

What are the expected delays?

  • Some sources say that gamers should be prepared for RTX 50 shortages to potentially last for up to three months
And I thought Zotac had less delays than Asus and Gigabyte, and there are Zotac 40/50 series RMA customers who have been told they have to wait for months, I fell sorry for the RMA customers. faulty cards thru no fault of their own and now they have to wait a long time for replacement cards

Imagine if EVGA didn't jump out of the GPU market, being one of the most popular brands it wouldn't of been bad as this

Yeah, that makes sense tbh, no point having a GPU if you ain't got a house to put it in, or food on the table lol. Also 15 years is a long time to be in a job, their interviewing skills are probably super rusty. I mean, you say it's FOMO, but if you look at the stats, the UK probably has gotten max 500 RTX 5090s, for the entire country. It's less so FOMO and more just no supply whatsoever.

No - I was No.13 in a queue, but am No.3 as of Wednesday.
I see, yeah I had a preorder in the other place as well for the AMP Infinity, but cancelled it because I was more confident I could get a card myself, and low and behold, I did, at a £250 premium lol as well as not getting any Haribo's and I have to wait until Tuesday to get it delivered because I forgot to pick Saturday delivery, honestly can't make this stuff up

Competitor has put a note next to the exchange rate stating it won't be used for the buy price... how convenient considering its been on the up:rolleyes:

They're all as bad as each other... however, if after jumping through all the anti-consumer bull**** hoops, you end up spending hundreds of pounds less than OCUK, then OCUK is still worse, imo.

If you pre-ordered for £2,200 and the other site asks you for an extra £100 or gtfo, is that better than paying £2,700 outright on OCUK for the same card?

Pay it and enjoy many more bags of Haribo to be honest.

Just having a peek at EVGA website and it seems they still produce PSU's and some accessories here n there

Their motherboards are gone and their amazing GPU's are gone, last series was the 30 series

I swear if they stayed in the market then they would have had amazing 40 and 50 series GPU's, top end to take on Asus and MSI, their KingPin cards would have been cream of the crop along but for some reason the owner decided to jump out
of the market blaming Nvidia practices, but it was them who lost out and the companys success and net worth is nothing as they once were, such a shame.

Reason I went with the TUF is that its very likely one of the first getting a block. I was also lucky enough to be 14th (and 4 after yesterday) in the other site for the same card. Given OCUK came thru with the order earlier than the other site, I was happy to eat the extra cost and forfeit my 4th position on the other site. Sending the card back would've been the difference in cost anyway.

Why is it there then? Can we get a weather forecast on there? Maybe some horoscopes? What does it have to do with buying a 50 series if it doesn't affect price
Their terms are an absolute mess , I'm sure some of this can't be lawful

2.Transparent Cost Confirmation:
As mentioned, our final buy price is confirmed only after dispatch, based on the prevailing exchange rate. Your pre-order price is therefore an estimate until then as exchange rates are volatile.

Then:

*Rates shown are taken at the live time of the update and are only a guide to show the difference in rates between the launch day and today.
These will not be used to calculate pricing.

Yeah sounds totally legit to me :confused::cry:
