NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Seen it for £2850 today but why are MSI refusing the return, the card is missing ROPs ffs  any luck with Steve from GN ? What are they expecting you to do with it considering its not what you paid for!

If you can , I would send it to Steve and inform him MSI refused to take it back if that is the case , hopefully he exposes them for being a **** company that doesn't want to help their customers!

Steve gets off on going after chicanery like that. Definitely keep records of comms and sen him a note. Outlandish (and completely against their own warranty terms which is illegal) to refuse either a repair or replacement.

Did they not even offer to let you use the card until they get replacements later?

Never heard back from GN but will update them with the latest. After telling me they would replace the card in writing they then went back on it 2 days later and told me to get a refund from the reseller and refused to help any further and have ghosted me since. In fairness the reseller has been very good and given me a little extra time to return it so i may find a repalcement. The reseller also refused a replacement though.

All in All pretty Pee'd off by it all

That is shocking , not what you expect when paying out these crazy prices

I've got an Asus tuf 5080 OC coming tomorrow. Anyone got any feelings on if I should return it given the 9070XT is going to be ~£500 cheaper?

Different performance level I know, but that's a significant chunk of change

Well no official figures as yet..
Just that the 9070XT is 26% faster than a 3090 in 4K.
So looking at being very close to a 4080 performance wise but probably worse RT.

Yeah worth firing him another email and update him on their refusal to help at all  as harmattan said Steve loves to get his teeth into these scummy practices by these companies so hopefully can help you out but if not it's good to hear the other place have still got your back and willing to help out , tbh they have been great with the partial refund but even if they just take the card back and refund the remaining atleast doesn't leave you in the **** . Keep us informed how it goes :)

Hmm I’m not entirely sure what is going on here.

Who is the reseller? Are you saying you bought a card ‘second hand’ or from a ‘scalper’.

Reseller is probably the biggest online store in the world, obviously cannot name names and was sold directly by them not through the marketplace

Ok lets say the 5070Ti average price is £900 (msrp £750 which you cant get) and the 9070XT average is £750 (msrp £600 which you cant get) and the 9070XT say equals the 5070Ti, Which would you buy now?

Ah OK I’m with you now; you’ve used ‘reseller’ in the sense of it being a synonym with ‘retailer’ :)

Well, your route to asking for a replacement is to initially politely restate your request for one saying that it’s unfair to not have one.

You can also politely refer them to sections: 5 (sales contracts); 9-11 (implied terms); 19(3)(b) & 23 (right to request a replacement) of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. But do so as a ‘footnote’ to general headline principles of unfairness - don’t be a doorknob :p

You ultimately need their help in sorting it out one way or another. A refund wouldn’t be a ‘disastrous’ outcome tbh, even if it’s not ideal.

You could also consider asking them for a partial refund (s.24) or for some other reasonable remedy that would suit you, if either would be agreeable.

Good luck!

I'd probably wait for reviews, but it does seem promising, do we have details on initial stock situation? Also what's your current card can you survive until AMD's release date/review?

Didn't you get a partial refund? I know obviously they should replace your card, but you've already gotten some money back I'd just sit tight and wait, or return it for a full refund and buy something else.
