NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

If only some could go towards FE cards, that would be nice.... It seems there are less 5090 FEs than 4090 FEs in the first few months after launch. Not a surprise, unfortunately.
For the first couple of weeks, the FEs seemed to outnumber the AIB cards, but since then, they've dried up completely. My guess is that Nvidia put a halt on shipments until they'd finished testing them all for the ROPs issue and possibly also got to the bottom of how that issue happened to begin with.

Folks who were going to buy a 5070 or 5070ti, those people may as well just buy the 9070XT and clock the balls off it. I watched 8 pack's video earlier, undervolted and overclocked his card hit 3.4ghz and it wasn't even a high end model. Nvidia's 70 series makes no sense at it's price point, now the 9070XT is out.
Makes sense if you only have a 650w power supply

I agree with your first point, as the early issues (connectors, black screens, etc) appeared to be largely on FE cards. I think Nvidia just doesn’t care about making FE cards this generation due to the demand for their AI accelerators. They will trickle them out once or twice a month. Hopefully I am completely wrong!

Another week and another week of waiting. Fingers crossed that this is this week we see the backlog start to take a big knock

If you don’t get any movement this week then that’ll cast doubt on my ‘more recently assigned ETA’ (I’m now 39 in the queue so must have been a drop out).

At some point, it may be strategically advantageous for a retailer to give an ETA even when they’re uncertain for the sake of keeping you on the hook. I’d like to think they wouldn’t do this on purpose… but if you get to 2 weeks of ‘it should land tomorrow’ then something seems awry - intentional or otherwise.

Yeah they're dangling that carrot efficiently but they can't deliver what they haven't got and MSI Suprims are like vapourware it seems. I keep seeing Asus, Zotac, Palit and Giga card drops which is also backed up by the number of people that are posting them online but apart from a small lucky few there just isn't that many that get posted in pics. Either Suprim owners are all shy or there just isn't many at all.

As a bonus, MSI seem to be the only major AIB partner ‘missing’ from the retailers list of ‘verified suppliers’ on their 50 series update page… whatever that means.

Presumably there is something about how MSI allocate stock that makes it less predictable than the other major suppliers… to that retailer at least.

There do seem to be certain models that just don't exist. I don't think I've seen a single Palit 5090, anywhere, that isn't the non-OC Gamerock.

I think the non-OC models on the lower priced cards are barely produced. The OC models have such small OCs that I bet the failure rate on binning the OC is non-existant, therefore it makes no sense to sell the non-OC ones if you want to maximise profit per die.

Looking at you, Zotac, with the 15Mhz core OC on the 5090 Solid OC model.

Not to be sniffed at..
That is running a 286.

But does explain you would never make the non Solid OC - Surely every chip should overclock by 15Mhz.

But the non-OC ones are the only ones that have been seen, at least as far as the Palits go.

Just had the DPD alert, today is the day :D

Me too but it was for a cable I pre-ordered a couple of weeks ago (cry emoji)

I'm down to 154 in the queue for the Palit Gamerock 5090. I'm guessing thats due to cancellations.

EDIT: I see they say they had a shipment on Friday. This is going to be a hard wait if they are only getting 20 in at a time.

They only shipped 3 cards on Friday (I'm position 22 now). Any other progress will be due to cancellations.

Update I'm now down to below 30 in the queue for the 5090 Aorus Master Ice, this is probably all just cancelations as I have a suspicion that this card doesn't exists! Anyway in the meantime I picked up a 9070XT Aorus Elite and its quite impressive with some OCs but it looks horrid, makes me laugh that this card in its entirety is the same price as the difference of what I paid for the 5090 ABOVE MSRP haha.

They had a drop of those last week. But none for the normal Aorus Master… apparently…

Probably sold in full pc builds instead at triple the overall margin.
