NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I read somewhere that the Astral's fan on the back is mostly what causes excessive noise. Maybe that fan could be dialed down with software.

The Asus 4090 Strix were also known to have pretty bad coil whine. I wonder if Asus has fixed it for this gen.
asus just released a new bios update for the astral which has reduced noise by 5db.

@p3eps, Looks like your 5090 arrived, Enjoy :D. Just checked and now I'm number 1 lol. ETA 21st Mar - 25th Mar :D
Got an email at 17.45 saying it had shipped by DPD. Typical - I’m going away with work for the next 3 days!!

What number were you that you’ve jumped to no.1? Just curious as to how many came in? That’s only another week IF they stick to the dates!

I was number 7, so 6 cards in the small shipment. Excluding what was put into pre-builds.

Everyone has seemed to get a big drop then bar the queue place. More and more it looks like ive ordered from the wrong place
There's a lot to be said though about pre-ordering a specific card at a set price rather than hunting every day and having to make a 30 nanosecond decision whether model X is worth Y over MSRP. It arrives when it arrives.

Grass is always greener and all that, some of those preorder prices are now unobtainium.

Another problem with these 'drops', sometimes I'm just not available. I work an office job where I categorically can't have a dozen 'NVIDIA RTX 5090' tabs open on my work computer, so everything has to be done on my phone. Sometimes the alerts wake me up at 6am, but I didn't wake up fast enough so they're already gone, so I give up, see everyone on here saying they got one anyway (the site delayed listing them for 5 minutes), so now I'm up at 6am for no reason.

Also, 90% of these drops are at significantly different prices. I'm not price sensitive, so I'm up for buying a 5090 at a ludicrous price, but not if it was £300 cheaper somewhere else just days ago.

So I just have to be patient, I'm sure the next drop will be better ;)

Stuck to my guns with 5090 Suprim from OC - only card I wanted - even over the LC. Only other I’d consider is ice master if I had a white build, even then Suprim would work

Im not up for chasing every notification but do follow them out of interest. I'm also not really up for a ludicrous price and I use term loosely as I'm already 2.6k in which some would consider ludicrous but I'd made peace with the idea of throwing another 200 in for the astral I saw the other day.

I'd basketed an astral earlier today and got through to checkout but the thought of another 400 irked me such that I bailed. I'm just going to stick it out and hopefully all this movement continues. Wish I was seeing more Suprims drop though.

This is why I gave up and paid £2400 for a bloody Palit when I got the chance. The 6AM notifications were the absolute worst. It's felt so liberating today not to have to keep jumping at my phone.
