NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

If they have already shown that MFG can run on 4000 series and potentially below, then it makes this new generation even worse and just a pure cash grab, especially the 5080 and below. They would have been better off just releasing the benchmarks before even producing the first chip and letting the consumer go thats crap, move on to the 6000 series.
I know that isn't realistic but wow, this generation is just getting worse by the day from a consumer perspective.

I was really looking forward to the upgrade but when i seen.the reviews someone burst the bubble .debating on a amd setup which I have in my basket.

Calm down. They've been doing a podcast for a while. They were always going to cover the launch of new GPUs. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

No problem with doing a podcast, it's just that they spend forever going over and over the same topics, whether it's the podcasts and Q&A videos or actual reviews rehashing the same thing.

I actually like both Steve and Tim and they're one of my go-to sites for reviews but they just rehash stuff too much IMO.

Hello, Jensen here! My Ai empire money tree just got smashed by a tiny Chinese company, i am sorry gamers can you forgive me and buy my GPUs again, i'll give you $20 off!
HAHA couldnt happen to a nicer company. And guess what they'll do it in a heart beat again if the situation arose. I really hope the AI bubble will go the same way as the Dot.com bubble

That memory bandwidth kicking the 4090s ass in RD2 4k max 8xaa, 20-30 fps vs circa 60 on the 5090. 100% faster.

Lol this is utterly pointless to compare against, MSAA is inferior and superseded by far better quality AA methods which RDR2 supports, which obviously is now DLSS 4 - Nobody should be using inefficient AA any more and they just kill performance and not as good visually as DLSS/DLAA.

I covered this in detail in another thread comparing all the modes and questioned the life choices of another member who was using MSAA with TAA and stuff so basically using one AA on top of another on top of another and wondering why framerates were low....

There are some underhanded things on these launches. “A friend” used to be able to give his credit card details to a guy at the other place who would make sure he secured the gpu the second the lines opened. He used to spend a lot of money there, do they would help him out.

It’s not right but it happens, trust me.

Genuine question, can we believe everything the chinese say? I honestly know nothing about Deepseek but i did see mention that they already had $1B worth A100's before starting which kind of wee's on the claim of building it for $6M if true.

It not right. And don't get me wrong OCUK is a business and at the end of the day it about money and selling all you can. But to give the enemy an unfair advantage. It safe to say I hate this company as I dealt with them many many years ago and had a really bad experience with them. If people want to use them fine.

I also know of a person who's mate has a pc/tech shop so can if they wanted to get these cards 'early access'.

Yeah long story short he stopped using them because they kept on sending his system back broken and couldn’t fix it. He said the customer service was horrendous, and even the “jumping the queue” for hard to get parts wasn’t worth using them again.

He’s now using OCUK and has to fight it out with the rest of us peasants now with no preferential treatment

:)

Let me guess. Nvidia are turning to displays after the AI market has CRASHED?

I know you joke but could you imagine if nvidia started selling monitors with technology (similar to a G-Sync chip) that reduced latency to whatever the native latency would be when using MFG.

I’d actually be impressed at them selling a solution to a problem they created - those monitors would sell like hotcakes as well.
