NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Hello, Jensen here! My Ai empire money tree just got smashed by a tiny Chinese company, i am sorry gamers can you forgive me and buy my GPUs again, i'll give you $20 off!
Nvidia getting rich selling shovels and the Chinese rock up in a JCB.

There are some underhanded things on these launches. “A friend” used to be able to give his credit card details to a guy at the other place who would make sure he secured the gpu the second the lines opened. He used to spend a lot of money there, do they would help him out.

It’s not right but it happens, trust me.
Totally not surprised shady stuff happens tbh

I know you joke but could you imagine if nvidia started selling monitors with technology (similar to a G-Sync chip) that reduced latency to whatever the native latency would be when using MFG.

I’d actually be impressed at them selling a solution to a problem they created - those monitors would sell like hotcakes as well.
They would have to change how frame gen works to remove the latency entirely (away from interpolating between two frames), but I get your point. Would be interesting to see what they could come up with.

Lol this is utterly pointless to compare against, MSAA is inferior and superseded by far better quality AA methods which RDR2 supports, which obviously is now DLSS 4 - Nobody should be using inefficient AA any more and they just kill performance and not as good visually as DLSS/DLAA.

I covered this in detail in another thread comparing all the modes and questioned the life choices of another member who was using MSAA with TAA and stuff so basically using one AA on top of another on top of another and wondering why framerates were low....

Could you please post a link? I’m a little uneducated on the ‘best ways’ :)

I recall that using a combo of DSR and DLSS was supposed to yield superb results in some games. I’m quite curious how this combo would run with MFG.

I cannot recall the exact thread but sure it was one of the thread here and was ages ago, but the gist of it was just swap in the latest DLSS DLL enable the correct preset and that's it, the best picture and performance with DLSS.

Ah ok, thanks.

Have you tried the DSR / DLSS combo?

I think this is particularly the case for RDR2. The TAA is awful and the DLSS version included is god awful as well.

So I'm looking to pick up a 5080 (with any luck).

trying to decide between a TUF or a Gaming Trio.

I've been AMD for about a decade since coming off a 970 years and years ago so am unsure of which AIB provides the "better experience" as a uk customer.

anyone else in the same decision making boat?

then years later tell people g sync monitors were no longer necessary as all monitors/tvs can use MFG sync (or whatever) and the early buyers get shafted yet again lol.

I get the impression that having a choice will be a luxury.

I've had a few MSI cards and they've all been good. Never had an Asus but the TUF range is apparently good without the massive Asus tax.

What are PNY GPUs like? I've never had one.

Just seen that Optimus are doing a waterblock for the PNY 5090, and I'm still trying to figure out which AIB to go for.
Any that are availble within the first 6 months of launch? /s
I really don't think there will be a choice if wanting one soon....

I'd go for the FE personally, although I know they'll probably be rarer than hen's teeth.
