I must admit, im a bit shocked by the prices especially as the reviews wern't raving about them.

I thought it was bad when GPU first broke the £1000 barrier, now where up £3000+ and people are still buying.


Considering Im old, and grew up with game at 640x480p, I guess I will make do with my RTX2080 and just lower the res for the lastest games.

The 5090 Astral OC was on another site for £2700, it’s showing on OCUK for £3000.

What’s worth £3k? Does it do something the others don’t, or give the expected uplift over a 4090?

THe game i mostly play , SKyrim MGO VR with 2000 mods will bring a 5090 to its knees. that would be on a quest 3 at max settings. still doubt itl hit 120 fps and you need 90 in VR
VR in modern headsets is basically 8k gaming

But Palit seemed to be getting stock earlier than the other cards. :/ it only changed to April after quite a while. others were May right off the bat.

PNY and Palit do always seem to have stock first got to be demand has beaten their supply. Im waiting on an asus astral OC 5090 and that's 2 to 12 weeks

They are all hard capped at 600W, so you won't see much difference

Now i want a 4k per eye headset in the next 12-18 months and i know for sure a 5090 will struggle. best wait for 6090... the 5080 with OC may just replace my 3090 for now though. almost 4090 performance for £1000 i can stomach

Maybe because it's got "OC" in the description and Overclockers need to pay royaltys

8k is 4 times pixel count of 4k tho, 90 FPS at that resolution is excellent

50% more expensive than even the FE 5090 but the performance gain will probably be about 2% lol, what a rip off
