NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

I didn't get any Haribo with my 5070 Ti :o, that might be the worst thing about this whole launch..

WTF ?! Seriously ? It's all about the Haribo when purchasing from OcUK

Any hoooo to all 5070TI owners, can you check your ROPs ?

I've got an Asus Prime 5070 TI coming, fingers crossed my 5700x3d shouldn't bottleneck it too much, not currently in the position to replace my motherboard/ram/cpu

I think you need to buy a second 5090 to fill all the space in your case.

Did you catch the peak GPU and memory temps in any of those benchmarks?

Lol, maybe end up with a 3050 there? Probably not though, I don't think I'm bothered about any of the games on the PhysX list.

Wasn't monitoring temps, sorry. I'll run the tests again at some point tomorrow and pay more attention to those.

Edit: Had a few minutes spare:
Steel Nomad max temps - GPU: 67.5, Memory: 68.0
Port Royal - GPU: 69.7, Memory: 72.0
Time Spy Extreme - GPU: 69.6, Memory: 72.0

Oh dear seems Nvidia and ASUS design moody GPUs

If this has been going on for many years and it’s not massively common I can see why their run of the mill cards don’t have extra protection to avoid wiping the card out completely.

In this instance though the card is circa £2.8k!!! And they didn’t build in any kind of protection.

What that tells me is AIBs are literally just milking wallets with a bigger factory OC and a lot of clever marketing.

The issue with PhysX is news to me and of particular importance: I have many, many hours in Borderlands 2, one of the affected games. It remains one of my favourite games. Fortunately, going forward - say for the 60 series - this PC has onboard 10 GbE, which means that unlike my last motherboard and all my other systems, the PCIe x4 slot would be free for my RTX 3050.

This is just Asus’ design motto. Marketing over everything. Skimp on everything else.
