NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Very happy with the performance of the 5070ti on AM4 so far
I was expecting FAR more input latency on 2x and 4x frame gen, but maybe in my old age i just can't feel it on M+KB?

Tried Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p with everything maxed out with path tracing enabled and got over 200fps with the NVIDIA recommended settings, honestly.. looks as good as native.

And tried avowed again maxed out with RT and got a very stable 130-140fps

Managed to get hold of a MSI Inspire 5080, was quite surprised as not really seen anything of them since launch. Even more surprised just had an email saying it’s been delivered tomorrow, hoping it looks as good in the flesh as it did on the CES vids.
I've had one since launch, hadn't seen much coverage before release never mind on release. I've found it to be a great card and I was surprised at how compact it was compared to recent cards I've used.

It sits pretty happy at around 1500-1600rpm most of the time while gaming.

Also mines clocked easily to 3Ghz which is what I'm running it at day to day right now.

Ah I c
Thanks for translating

I honestly thought he was a big time competitive gamer who needs nothing but the best no matter what
No I wish, I am a bang average 40 year old plus gamer.

The 4090 cost me around 2k when I purchased it in India at launch.....in hindsight that was a great price.

When the 5090 rumours started to gain traction, I was trying to second guess the price......2.5k I was comfortable with, but it soon became very apparent that there was no way I could get anything for that and the FE is a pipedream over here.

The one company that usually handles the FE card had zero information from Nvidia on allocations, and even when they had the 4000 series launch, they used a lottery system to offer it to those people that filled out an online query form.

So I constantly upped my budget.....and boom.....there we go.

Unfortunately massively....TBH I am not even sure what MSRP is on a lot of these cards.

OCUK have it at around 2.8k......I paid around 3.4k for mine (converted from INR)

Was it worth the 25%(ish) uplift from my 4090.....absolutely not.....

However to have a stake in the top tier GPU game there is simply no way around it.
Realistically if you turned off the fps counter would you even be able to tell the difference?

Well tbf ... everyone for their own.
If @Rifte wants to always have the best, no matter what the cost. Good for him

Personally I've never purchased top tier-1 ever in my life despite having the funds and permission from the misses
Just found it pointless having to upgrade every year, it's too much effort for me

It can be an effort so fully appreciate this, trying to find a retailer in India was a nightmare on launch week and I effectively gave up.

I touted my interest with all of the main retailers in India, but it was a local independent that managed to get one for me. He knew I was looking from and called me.

Impossible to justify the cost to anyone, including the missus......and to be honest even myself.....

Saw a post by Corsair where they basically say they didn't want to put 12VHPWR connectors on their PSUs (stick with 2x8pin into 12VHPWR) but people demanded it.

I’ve just ordered all the parts to build a new PC for next week .. (9800X3D based) without a new GPU yet. My 3080 will suffice till I can get one of the new ones. Old PC was just over 4 years old and in that time I’d moved from 1440 to 4K gaming. I’m looking for a boost , but also looking forward to actually building a new PC!

I justified it on the basis that life is simply short. Rather have, than not have. And if I don’t spend it on this the wife will just want more holidays!
Enjoy life, and enjoy that 5090!
