Nvidia: what I want to share with you will redefine the future of gaming.

How do you redefine gaming when you're doing the same thing as 100 other vendors?

The Apple method. Do the same thing that everyone else has been doing for years, polish it up, give it a groovy name and then announce it to an audience of whooping and hollering die hards at a special press conference.

Et voila! History rewritten!

Because redefining can also mean repeating the definition, defining something can also mean explaining the qualities of said product.

So wither you all like it or not, they have redefined gaming, just not in the way you thought. That's not their fault you assumed.

Ok it may not of redefined gaming, but to say it is just like every other android console is also rather arrogant. What other android console can natively play Crysis? What other console has a remote that doesn't need batteries?

It may very well be another android console, but you could say the AMD 390 will be just another graphics card, that won't stop people praising it's features and telling everyone how good it is.

Double post.

Quick hint don't try posting from your phone while on the train going through lots of tunnels.
It is rather tricky to say the least.

Nvidia have redefined the future of gaming.

They redefined it as Android console gaming.. Who knew?

No need to buy the Titan X guys, the future is Nvidia Sheild !!

If you knew what redefine means, you would not have asked what 'new' things could I do with it nor said its been done 100 times before."
What do you think redefine means? Redefine means to change or to do something differently. If nothing has changed and nothing is done differently then how has it redefined anything? Redefine means there is a line and things have changed so the line has now moved. As I asked you before what has this device redefined. I do not see anything redefined. Redefine also tends to mean something that has a large impact, not a tiny change that has no noticeable impact on the market. The Ipad was a device that redefined the market. A smartphone redefined the market so did HD. What will this device do?

From a technical prospective most of them can play Crysis natively. Once its out on the app store there is no reason why other Android devices cannot play it. Remotes that do not need batteries are nothing new and hardly major.

If Nvidia manage to make their graphic cards being able to be dual-purpose of a) installed into a PC to use as a graphic card b) plug directly into a display for playing Andorid games without the need of a PC...then THAT might deserve the claim of "redefined the future of gaming" :p

I mean just imagine graphic cards that's are Android console as well...we can pass on our old graphic cards (no longer of value) to kids for playing Android games by simply pluging into any display... :D

You can redefine something and do it over again, you do know that ? Obviously not. Redefining can also mean repeating, defining something can also mean explaining the qualities of said product.

They have redefined gaming. Yes they have repeated something thats already done, yes its not new, but it doesnt have to be to redfine something.

The difference is a 390x will bring a level of performance not currently achievable hence new. An Android consoles whose claim to be a next generation device includes.... bringing a decade old game to work on it is not next generation though doesn't stop Nvidia claiming it is. Also claiming to be the first android tv console

Also I must be missing something, a remote that doesn't need batteries? No other console has a remote that doesn't need batteries, but then the Nvidia shield doesn't have a remote that doesn't need batteries so I literally have no idea what your point is.

Nvidia are claiming to be the worlds first Android TV console... which is embarrassing. It's like whichever phone is the first to launch after Android is updated to a new version and claiming to be the worlds first android phone just because the previous ones were say Android 3.1 and this phone is Android 4.0. It's just an interation of the software built off the normal Android OS, worlds first and next generation gaming because it supports android games and some of the best PC games.... that are stupidly old for the most part.

At least the shield tablet offered everything this box could.... plus portability. If I had a gun to my head and had to choose one of Nvidia's stupid Android gaming devices this would be the only one I wouldn't choose. Tablet... portable, offers other functions and can use video out and be plugged in and have a controller used with it. The first shield, at least can be used as a handheld, but again could effectively do everything a console could do. The console, offers LESS, way less functionality than the previous two Shield devices. Hook the tablet or handheld to a tv and you have the Shield Console.. you'd have had it for what two years, same functionality, same features, same access to games, same content.

An updated Tablet or handheld with the X1 in would have been far less embarrassing than this console.

Only that's not the only definition for redefine, it also means to reexamine or reevaluate with a view to change or to transform. So, what about it is reevaluating with a view to change? It's just the same as what everyone else is doing.

All your doing is basically defending nVidia because they're doing the same as everyone else, when you know their marketing intention was not about repeating the same as everyone else.

I've only ever seen the most crazy of Apple cultists who would willing consume the marketing of a company and then when it's an empty promise they use the literal definition of the word to defend the marketing. It's doesn't make you any less of a fanboy to call-out nVidia on their poor marketing practices, it just means you can actually think for yourself.
