nvlddmkm event crash whilst watching video on a 4080 Super

seems modern enough but what is your actual model? you said asus in your OP but having gone through the rtx 4080 super models on their sit enone seem to have any bios updates.

Do you have an old small ssd lying around you could do a clean install on? that's what I do if i trouble shooting worth the £10-20 for an ssd just in the time it saves if you dont have to do a clean install.

Just to add to the spice. I seem to remember screen overlays causing a problem. It might be worth turning those off as well. Discord has one and the Xbox windows system has one as well.

Sorry, it's this one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...-pci-express-graphics-card-gra-asu-02002.html

I was plagued by this on a couple of Nvidia cards once they aged a bit (MSI ones). The cards became slightly unstable and certain things seemed to cause this crash. A TDR error means the hardware stopped responding briefly and the drivers couldn't communicate with it.

Some of these cards just don't use very good quality components and they degrade. For me the issue went away when I shopped for a brand which used good voltage regulators etc.
