NVME drive idle temps

HI guys,

Just installed my first NVME drive (2tb sx8200 pro adata)

I was just wondering what normal idle/ working temps are?

I noticed that it sits a fair bit hotter than my sata ssd. All my sata ssds idle around 25 degrees, but the new nvme drive is sitting at 38.

Perhaps NVME drives run hotter, but i wanted to check this is normal.

It came with a separate small heatsink (with some adhesive backing), but the Adata website implies it is just for show as it says you can choose whether to put it on or not. Having done some research, some say it is better to let nvme drives run hotter, so leave it off and some say put it on so i am none the wiser!

Cheers

That's well within normal operating temperature.
M. 2 drives are attached to the motherboard so will passively warm from the board, sata drives are Usualy isolated more from nearby warm components.
