Grrr got to go out at 10!

I thought maybe the dashboard would render at 1920x1200 but games would stay the same. If not I don't mind, the stretching isn't that noticeable anyways - I even bought a 1:1 pixel mapping monitor so it wouldn't stretch, and it looked exactly the same, so I just kept it stretched for the larger picture :)

If you don't mind voiding your HDD warranty, it's quite easy to hook up to a PC for transferring data.

Don't even need to open it if you get an X-Sata kit do you? But then if you're spending money you may as well get the proper migration kit.
 
It does seem a bit odd. I've a feeling MS were Marketing to the Arcade users mainly with the 60GB, but still seems unfair on any 20GB Premium owners still out there...

I bought a 120GB for my premium, and now use the 20GB drive on my Arcade.
 
my old 20gb premium console went bust out of warranty so i bought a new premium 60gb, but i'm stuck with the 20gb from my old console for now. I got the form off the MS website, and just crossed out where its says "elite" and put "premium 60gb" in hope they'll eventually send me the data transfer kit.

Maybe one day in the future I'll be able to use my 60gb :p
 
I had kind of forgotten about this. I was planning on going home for lunch anyway (forgot my football kit AND my sandwiches :() so will get the update done and have a play around with the avatars before cracking one off.

Hang on, that still sounds bad. Basically I am going to have a quick game of FIFA. Bloody hell what is wrong with me this morning.

BTW, a new game might be worth pulling a sickie for, but not a dash update. Once you've created an avatar, found out where everything is and installed game it will lose the excitement :p

to answer your question I don't know mate, though previous updates have been very quick to download they were updates, this is a change to the core system, I can't imagine it being that big though

IIRC the people who updated early could do so from a usb 128mb stick so there we go :)
