NXE Preview Program emails going out

I understand the excitement about a game beta but for a dash update?

I'm genuinely asking what I'm missing out here as apart from HDD game loading and Mii's is there something more exciting?

well im most looking forward to partys, but there's a lot of little things as well which make it great.

I think everyone is looking forward to the HDD loading, apart from that xbox live is tip top and does not need fixing or changing.

I think everyone is looking forward to the HDD loading,

not really, 20gig owners or memory card owners ain't. I'm not fussed unless i can whack a 500gig HDD in it and store over 10 games on the HDD along with my arcade games and what not. If it cannot do that then its not worth it

I signed up but no email. Would have been nice but it's not like it's a long wait until we get it for real.

Surely though even 20gigers would be pleased with being able to install their 'most played' game of the moment and then remove and replace with the next big game. For example i would be willing to bet the majority of people currently playing Fable 2 to death would love to chuck it onto their harddrive, faster loading speeds and less noise are both big bonuses for a few mins of your time to install your next big game.

Less noise is subjective, console noise levels for 90% of the time when playing games is a non-issue, as the TV volume drowns it out, even at low levels. That's what I find anyway. Also, I thought MS said load times wouldn't be hugely affected?

Personally, I very much doubt I will make much use of the install feature.

Exactly, it's still great even if I can only install my most played game. Obviously a massive hard drive and being able to install a ton of games would be best but I'm happy with what I'll be able to do.

Oh and I didn't get accepted into the beta.

Even with a 120GB HDD, you're not going to be able to fit a big collection of games on.

I plan to install my most played games, and then have whatever games I'm currently playing until I install the next ones.

As i'm sure you know the amount of noise a 360 produced and where the majority of noise comes from changes from console to console. I've seen several people complain that the loudest part of their 360 is the drive and many people complain of it bugging them; this feature will solve that problem for them which is fantastic. Also yeah, load times won't have much impact as the DVD drive in the 360 is very quick, but, every little helps :)

I'm not trying to pretend the installation feature will be for everyone, but i know of many who will find it a blessing.

Depends on your box.

My Premium was pretty reasonably, but my Arcade sounds like a 747 taking off. :(

I tend to use my PS3 for watching films now anyway, but when I did use my premium I'd say it was an exceptable volume.

If I used my Arcade it wouldn't be.

Just got an email saying i've been accepted and the update will be available on the 1st november. :D

Really looking forward to installing games to the HDD. Will finally stop the disc read errors i've been getting.
