i do of course realise this is not intentional on nzxt's part, and certainly is no fault of overclockers, i'll simply be purchasing a different case, (from overclockers!) as having no pc is starting to get pretty problematic :p
 
Thanks for the case ideas guys. Sadly they are all too deep. It fits into an ikea ullrik unit with max 500mm depth on the case to give room for cables.

OCUK suggested the NZXT H630 also and that would be great. the 440 would fit perfectly but I need it for the 14th ideally or I have to tell my son he needs to wait a week (maybe more?) Is the 21st March any more fixed?

Any more ideas would be really appreciated.

what also concerns me is with the overwhelming volume of pre orders, whether or not ocuk can even guarantee the first delivery will cover all the pre orders
 
I have had to reveal my plans and case to my son to ask his views. He loves it so much he is willing to wait after his birthday!

So don't let me down OCUK get it in as soon as you can and shipped!!!

Well I'm in no rush.
I've got a perfectly good case already, only ordered this one cos I got home a little tipsy and decided to get the credit card out...:p

If it helps at all, I'd happily (well, almost...) wait for the second batch as I don't need it that urgently. Still not sure I should have ordered it, as I'm trying to pay the balance down a bit first! This is why I ain't a big drinker...
I'm gonna invent a USB breathalyser which blocks online purchases if you blow over a certain alcohol level...;)

EDIT Or perhaps, OCUK, you could insert a pop-up during the checkout process- something along the lines of "Have you been drinking? Are you sure you want this item? Click OK to continue, or Blehh to save this transaction, so you can have a look in the morning."

Would be nice to know if everyone who has already pre ordered will get the case when the first lot came in. Waiting till the 4th of April is already a long time to wait but having to wait till then to only find out you have to wait for the next batch will be the straw that broke the camels back. As always, I appreciate it would be out of your hands but any information is always helpful.
 
Very tempted but put off by the lack of disk drives... now flipping a coin between this and a corsair 540...
 
I checked on my 5.25 drive usage and realised that once I had ripped all my DVDs and CDs I haven't used it since. All games are steam or origin now. Even Office etc is heading down the cloud route with Office 365 as are Adobe. I have a usb DVD writer for a laptop and so will use that. USB 3.0 Bluray drives are £40 ish if you need that.

On the other hand good cooling and looks are always needed!!!!
 
If they are indeed pushing the date back, can they not extend it further and create a mesh intake for the front and top?

It severely starves the fans, and re: silence it would actually be quieter as there would be no resistance.

The mesh cut out could be made very well, retaining its minimalistic style.

As much as I like this case and want to buy it, I can't because the front and top are just too restrictive without needing to be.
 
The case is out in the USA so no changes Gangster. The reviews on this all seem happy with the cooling. I have a 240mm radiator going in th roof of mine for an OC 4670k so I hope it is ok!
