** NZXT H440 - SUPER SLEEK GAMING CHASSIS WITH EPIC WC POTENTIAL **

and where does the DVD drive go? lol
3 fans in the front and the front doesnt look like mesh, will they do anything?

Yeah think the thought in this is no one uses dvd/optical drives anymore...
But sure with having 2 x 360mm radiators in, which is a minimum 6 fans.
surely they could have included a small fan controller even a 3.5" one or a custom one somewhere..
Massive oversight here by NZXT

But for the price and what u get its a pretty good price and love the power supply tray

Theres a fan hub on the back of the case (on the motherboard tray)... I assume its PWM...

There is a fan hub on the back on the mother tray but its pure 12v I think.

I can't personally wait to start specing these cases, I love how they have dropped all optical support and I think NZXT is so right to have done so, so well done them :)

Am I the only person that likes the white one more?

The fan hub and the psu cover are similair to what phanteks offer on the enthoo primo and the upcoming cheaper luxe. Quite like the interior of this case in black/red, but airflow looks to be non existent.

when will these be available?! i hope it's soon as im doing a build in a couple of weeks..

edit: wait, i have a stupid question, how do i install my OS?? no optical bay :(

I've still not seen a NZXT case that I like.
This one however doesn't look as bad as a lot of their previous ones (partly as it doesn't look so plastic-y).
I think it's a shame they've removed all optical drive support, I still on occasion use a optical drive and find they're handy for playing Blu-Rays.
Also as mentioned a fan controller might be handy on something with that many fans or a bay-res if watercooling.

For now I'll stick with my 900D and 540 AIR, but if NZXT keep improving I may one day be considering one!

There is a number of ways to get round the lack of optical drive support :)

  • External DVD (you can pick these up for £22 here
  • USB stick (though you will need another computer with an optical drive
  • If you have a network you could push an image of a clean installed OS to the new machine

so if i get an external optical drive i can install my OS onto an ssd as i would normally do? and there wont be chicken-egg problems with usb drivers before OS install? (i've never built my own before)

ps: i also like the white one more :)

really nice but hate the ssd mounts, and looks like they cant be removed.

Do you mean the ones on top of the PSU shroud because the trays are removeable. If you mean the six 3.5" drive bays the trays are removable and there are no slides for them but the panel is fixed. Although, why you'd want to remove it I don't know, it doesn't impede air flow and is hidden behind the panel.
