Yeah, they were on there the other day...

You can get their Simplicity contracts, which aren't on a fixed term.

That may be so but that means im now tied into constant 18month contracts unless i switch networks. Im pretty sure that they haven't just "binned" the 12month contracts as i would imagine they would lose a lot of customers. I for one will leave o2 if they have abolsihed the 12 month contract.

They might be doing what they do with the store tariffs and charge £5 extra per month on top of the 18month price. But the website says nothing, it's just vanished. 12months is still an option via the 'package builder' but that doesn't work.

18 month contracts suck ****..

1) Technology moves at such as fast pace your phone is out of date in 6 months
2) I find mobile phones start to break around the 12 month period. If not break then little annoyances such as speaker phone going etc.

I am on a 12 month contract with o2 at the moment. i wont re-new unless its on a 12 month jobby.

SOd contract, go for Simplicity!
£20/month 600mins/1000text/unl internet

Sorted!

thats pretty good.

I spend 50/month at the moment on average.

that would mean i save 30/month = £360/year = new phone each 12 months.

I was just reading about this on another forum (I'm really, really sorry ocuk..)

If you can be bothered to check out the mobile phone section of the Money Saving Expert site, it tells you about it in one of the threads there.

No more 12 month contracts.

yeah tbh 20 quid a month is nothing and for 600mins/100text and is that unlimited internet access?

I didnt understand that does that mean I can surf the net as much as I want free on my phone?

Cos theres another bolt on offer that says free unlimited wifi access?

I am with o2, and if I put 15quid on I get 300 free texts and 120free weekend/offpeak mins, and I still have 15quid credit, which I get for 13.50 as I have a tesco staff card:p

To me, contracts are for people who cant afford the phone in the first place, or at least in all my friends case it is.

I think there is also £35 via Quidco for that deal as well. Have to say, looks tempting, beats even "3" tarrifs - 30 day notice, free voicemail. At £25 it's not that good, at £20, it's just right. The only problem is O2's totally extortionate roaming charges.
