O2 Dropping out recently?

I've now set my dns servers to:

94.192.119.254
94.192.119.253

following these guides:

and have now been online for 2hrs30 with no drops, which has been absolutely unheard of over the last week or so. Fingers crossed that is has fixed my issue and thanks to Azuse05 for points out the fix.

Yeh let me know how it goes as i might try this as well. The only concern is that these servers are only temporary

The problem i seem to be having is a loss of framing and signal in my router stats so will a change in DNS servers really help?

Thanks

Done this also and it's solved the DNS issue. It had got so bad it was happening every 15mins or so recently.

Unfortunately spoke a little too soon. Whilst doing the above seems to have made things better i'm still intermittently getting DNS problems. Any other suggestions?

I have had serious problems with o2 over the last few months. At first i thought my extended cable connection from the main line was the cause but after connecting the router straight into the mains the problem was still there. On somedays i get my normal speeds but on other days, which are most of these days, i get a large ping which makes online gaming impossible. I have spoken to them many a times but nothing conclusive has ever been given to me. Just the routine, update the router firmware, run tracert, check cables etc.

Just over the last week or two i have a new problem, the router resetting itself after a few minutes. Im pretty sure its the router overheating but i don't know what to do with it. Im hoping that they would send me a new one but seems unlikely right now. All in all, the first 3 months of my contract were amazing but now its back to business.

My connection has been dropping too. Last night I picked up the handset and heard a really loud crackling sound. I pulled everything out of the socket and then plugged the phone back in and the line was clear.

I've ordered a new microfilter (google XF-1e) and will post the results tonight.

All of my o2 routers have had reset issues. I can remedy the problem by turning off wi-fi. The router is solid as a rock after that but you shouldn't have to turn off wi-fi to make it stable.

I've been getting this as well although my line appears to be stable now *touches wood* as it hasn't dropped for the past 3 days. I've had BT engineers round fault finding, but my line always seems to be ok so maybe its an O2 problem? I've tried many many filters so its definitely not that so O2 have always sent me in BTs direction.

Up and running with my XF-1e microfilter now.
This makes the world of difference, I'm now getting my full 8mb and hear no noise on the line when I make calls.
