O2 tethering included in new plans.

For the iPhone when I click on the tether button it takes me to this pages where it says I have to pay the tethering fee.

Does anyone know how to get round this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Phone O2 and 'upgrade' your contract to a new one which includes tethering. Guy at work tried to do just that this evening but for what was effectively the same package but with tethering, they wanted a fiver or so more.

Great deal this has turned out to be. "You can have tethering for free but you'll need to upgrade your contract and it'll cost you a fiver more than you're paying now." I think he declined the offer.

I'm still pleased I moved to Three.

I have this plan yet it won't let me tether did you have to enable something?

Sorry, only just realised this is in the Apple section, i have a HTC Desire, tethering just works, didnt realise it was any different on an iPhone, i just click on a wifi thing and my phone turns into a wifi access point.

Great, another 24 month contract then? Better off just get mywi for $19.99

So what do you need for this?
Im on a 24month contract paying £35 p/m and the only bolt on I have is unlimited wifi which I assume is standard.

I got missold this service, its very rare that I'll ever use wifi out and about, most of the time when I'm using wifi is at home or work. Which is not through o2 at all.

3G is worth it, but by now we should be getting 4g as standard.

@Concorde Rules: Where'd you see/hear £3?
@RKO/robj20/artaxerxes: I was on Unlimited Data originally too. How do I check if I got moved over?

I got the £35 p/m 18m contract for my 3G at launch, and when that reached its 18 months I changed to O2 simplicity 20 for iPhone ... exactly the same minutes/data/voicemail for £20 p/m with only 1 month contract. Fast forward a couple of years to today and I'm still on it! I've avoided moving to Three as the customer service from what I hear is ****.
I've found O2 to have naff 3G coverage (especially compared with Orange & Three), but I've also been in the middle of nowhere and O2 have been the only network with a basic GSM signal to make a telephone call.... no other networks had any signal whatsoever.

Below is what My 02 Says:

I was reading the site but a little confused if someone could clarify.

I got a 3GS on a 24 month contract at £35 a month ( I have since swapped over to the 4G but contract is the same, just swapped the number to the new one)

Does this mean its included in my plan..or is their still an extra charge for teathering?

Not sure where to check, I just remember a blog post last year from O2 that they were moving the way of AT&T and were removing unlimited plans. Believe it was written by the CEO.

I dropped my monthly tariff down from £35 to £25, along with their new UMTS 900 support I'm quite pleased with the service. Not sure what route I'll take when my contract expires though.
